It's honestly just a thank you from us fans for all the great music and memories. This music has meant a lot to me over the years and has been a great inspiration to me. I just thought it would be nice to show some appreciation.

Why do people think this is such a bad thing? If you think it's stupid, don't go. The people who do go will probably enjoy themselves.

You don't find it just a tad sad and pathetic at all?

The fact that you can't see how sad it is makes it exponentially more sad and pathetic.

A lot

because either you are a pathetic young person who should have much more relevant bands to be worshiping.

Or

You are a middle aged person desperately trying to cling onto memories from youth by having a party in a tea house for a band that has fallen so far off the radar even the people who have been/were in the band don't give a shit about some arbitrary anniversary.

It's not even like "Hey lets all go to some club club and get drunk," it's hey lets get together at a tea house and stare and some collectible crap.

So even if I grant there is a valid reason for fans to gather for some event, the event being proposed is so mind numbingly off the charts pathetic that really it's just sad.

You actually managed to find something sadder then hiring a tribute band to play at a a club.

I mean maybe if Billy had chocked on his own vomit at 28 this might be a worthwhile gathering, but nope.

I see... so, it's not sad and pathetic to post over eight thousand times on a website dedicated to a "band that has fallen so far off the radar"?

Anyway. I'm not a kid, but I'm not middle aged either. This isn't some desperate attempt to hold on to my youth. It's just a fun time for people who still actually like Smashing Pumpkins, held in a nice place with a good atmosphere. I don't know why it seems to offend you so much. Don't you have something better to do, or are you too pathetic?

A meet up with people who have a similar interest at a place that is relevant to that interest? HOW SHOCKING! First, I have heard of anyone doing this.

boring. It's just the same stuff that that spaceboy guy posted up on the O-board ages ago.

Isn't Corgan going to exhibit anything from his personal collection?
