Aw man, one can dream.
Seriously, that would be like the coolest thing he would've done in 18 years

A little bummed that they're going with a set set-list.

What I loved about seeing the band in 2007 was that the set-lists were always changing. It was great. Each show there would be different cuts that they were playing for the first time on the tour and they'd always switch up the orders.

It's at least cool they're planning on doing long sets. I think they'll definitely play the SD/MCIS deep-cut favorites and maybe an oddity or 2 sprinkled in with the hits.

Honestly it makes sense to do the same setlist every night.

Their fans all have spouses, kids, careers, etc. No one's gonna be following them like in 2000. So it doesn't matter if they play the same songs in LA as they did in San Fran.

I'm pretty sure it was set up with the stage at the blue line as Theatre - 5,000-9,000 seats. it can go as low as Hemicycle - 2,000-3,500 seats... It 100% depends where they put the stage. They can change ticket availability as demand changes and make the "arena" smaller as tickets don't get sold.

Good. means I don't have to go to Toronto to finally see James play.

I was at that 2012 show and can vouch that the crowd was dead.

The arenas will be half empty. SP is a House of Blues level band now, not fuckin' Pink Floyd.

United Center, Madison Square Garden and the LA Forum just sent out this tweet.

They really are doing some sort of new take on the Today video

They are never going to sell those venues out, even with the best part of half a years promotion

Madison Square? that has to be a joke.

is he trying to piss on Radiohead (2 nights in a row Madison square, saw one night, it was great - and packed) by tinkling against a tree outside?

Madison Square Garden is a place you play at the height of your worldwide fame with a hit record and a hit single on the charts. It's not 1995 anymore and SP doesn't have either a hit single or a hit record. You don't play MSG with the 5th iteration of a band that should be playing the state fair circuit now.

If they're playing MSG maybe it's best there isn't a touring keyboardist

also no way in fucking hell will these come close to capacity

Hahahaha, they're going to play MSG?

That's going to be hilarious. They literally won't be able to fill it to 50% capacity. They should just play 3-5K venues, why the delusion about an "arena tour". Arena shows aren't really enjoyable anyway. God damn, how bad do you think Billy's finances are?

What in the fuck. This is insanity.

So their plan is;
  1. Reunite the 2015 Pumpkins lineup
  2. Add James
  3. Record a throwback single
  4. Play Madison Square Garden????

yea. united center crosses paths with his wrestling stunts as well, they probably get a good deal there, if they fill it to 60% or to 90%.

MSG maybe too, that crosses paths with the Mendel fashion show joints, they likely can make a good deal with the venue as well. which is then a package deal with the LA Forum venue.

these aren't just willy nilly arena choices that would be especially pricey for them.

How is this tour any different than the Manson tour? It's plus James for a few songs? Who cares? Manson + SP were not selling out 4000 seat venues.

Or if you’ve actually taken the time to cultivate a fan base and create a fan community.

People have been able to see SP play the hits for the past 10 years in some form or another.

It's not like the crazed masses were only waiting for James to join the 2015 lineup.
