I don’t get the love for Slow Dawn. It reminds me of that old Rod Stewart song where he sings about stalking a girl every night on the downtown train. But to each his own.

Anyway yeah, In My Body is great. It’s a tad long but one of the best tracks of that era.

In My Body sounds like early Cure, like it could've been on Faith.

If you prefer IMB to SD, welp. Body goes NOWHERE, Slow Dawn is classic chord progression with a ripping solo, good lyrics and concise. "Get it"?

slow dawn has a killer vibe. like you've been up all night on pills and wine and then you smoke a bowl for sunrise and watch the slow dawn. real love is a shoegaze rush.

I like Saturnine

I like how in that song and in Speed Kills, each chord change is just a single monolithic drone

I think I’d like Real Love if he didn’t use that fuzzy static effect on it. I love it on White Spyder but it ruins Real Love for me. Machina Saturnine sounds like they recorded the whole thing standing under an air conditioner.

Real Love like White Spyder could stand to be a tad less blown out but still both great tracks.

Slow Dawn is one of my favorites. I've got good memories attached to it.

This might be exactly why I fucking love IMB

Really the only things off MII I skip over are Innosense every now and then, Le Deux Machina because in retrospect it feels like something along the lines of Ruby Pit Mix 3 - a sample from a bigger work (GATGC) in isolation, and I never listen to the MII version of Atom Bomb because it feels like a demo and the Try B-Side/Judas O version's infinitely better.

MII really is a great fucking album

yeah, I'd love to hear versions that are somewhat cleaner, especially white spider is really fucked up in some places - to the point I can't really hear what is played, which is an abomination to God.

Especially since those riffs are so meaty.

All of this. I like that Slow Dawn has kind of a waltz feel. Sounds water logged. Very simple very sweet.

Real Love is criminally underrated and I'm sure its almost impossible to recreate live, but would be sick.

I think it really suits Real Love to be as over saturated as it is. That bendy-woosh synth thing before the chorus tickles my brain.

Never cared much for Whyte Spyder, its kinda nu-metal... its interesting enough. Title sounds like some late 90s snowboard company.

I always wondered was White Spyder supposed to sound like that, or was it just compressed too much when ripped from the vinyl? Be really interested in that Machina remaster!

I really like it as a companion to the other versions, like it doesn't really stand on its own but as a reprise it works

Imagine if Billy just were to put out the Machina Reissue instead of the new EP. I'd be cool with that

Yeah I’ve always wondered that too. I also have trouble discerning which versions of certain Machina II songs are the “official” ones. Like there are two versions of Dross that are very similar, but the lyrics vary slightly (growin’ cold vs. growin’ old). Same with Glass and Cash Car Star. For CCS, I prefer the “my baby’s got three eyes” version because that line is so WTF. Not sure if that’s the offficial one or not though.

Billy said in his Instagram Q&A that the songs will be put out as an album/LP, instead of two EP's. I think this is a wise decision, will get more publicity being 'the first new album with James Iha in 18 years' than two EP's. Also it's only one song shorter than Monuments.

Funny how he announced his EPS after Reznor was doing his, then right after Reznor changes his mind and publicly tells a fan to fuck themselves all of a sudden Bobo is not doing the series of EPs anymore.

At least this time he listening and learning from other peoples mistake and realizing Spotify will bury the EPs, rather do something like I don't know have to change your name back when you realize no can find your solo album.
