And for the first time
Heaven seemed insane
Cause heaven is to blame
For taking you away

this thread is so emotional for myself right now

but yeah after close listening w/ headphones it does now sound like "who've turned their backs on the sick" without a strong k sound but it's implied [of course b/c it makes sense]. hmm. whatever it's great either way

As the Indian summer of my remembrance settles on my bones
Cracked and weary, I ask for direction home

"Home", let the word spill from my mouth
Love, love is everything I want
I, one of many more to come
Love, love is everything I want

Upon my wrists, I bear the cross
My losses mount as I climb across the hole of my own soul

Body, face and soul of you has gone down that deep black hole

So cry these tears, we'll cry as all
We've held so long to fall apart
As the curtain falls, we bid you all goodnight

Words buy new life
Dust clears, no scars
Burnt but bright eyed
The sun's out, a still night stirs
The wait hurts worse than the blows

Real love
Or is it me you're after
Is it time?
Because it's now or never
Real love
Real love forever
Real love
Born of the fallen chain

1. Destroy the mind, destroy the body, but you cannot destroy the heart.

20. If you have to go, don't say goodbye. If you have to go, don't you cry. If you have to go, I will get by. Someday I'll follow you - see you on the other side.
21. Living makes me sick, so sick I wish I'd die.
22. What moon songs do you sing your babies? What sunshine do you bring?
23. The useless drag of another day, the endless drags of a death rock boy.
24. I lie just to be real and I'd die just to feel, why do the same old things keep on happening?
25. Do you remember when we first met? Chasing down the alleyways behind my dad's.
26. Dead eyes, dead eyes, are you just like me?
27. Graceful swans of never topple to the earth, tomorrow's just an excuse for you to make it last forever you.
28. Life just fades away, purity just begs, dust to dust we're wired into sadness.

I'm your lover
I'm your zero
I'm the face
in your dreams of glass.

for the first time
i'm telling how much i need and bleed for
your every move and waking sound in my time
i'll wrap my wire around your heart
and your mind
you're mine forever now

Sweet sweet sweet sweet little agony
I don't know just where you've been
But I'll take take take
All that you have for me
In sin
Where are we going?

I'll think of more.

We just can keep fighting the good fight against the britneys

I think I might break up the band again

Wrapped my hurt in you
And took my shelter in that pain
The opiate of blame
Is your broken heart, your heart

And if we died right now, this fool you loved somehow
Is here with you

I believe in never, I believe in all the way
But belief is not to notice, belief is just some faith
And faith can't help you to escape

I love the open road
And all that it suggests
Wheel-wagon dust
Weeds and infidelities
And always swore our love
Never questioned why
In a wooden house
Immovable and silent
And drinking strawberry wine
Forever lost in town

"Sometimes someone saying Yes changes what you meant."

I honestly think that's quite a deep, insightful line.

I like many others here were always drawn to Billy's lyrics. Especially as a high school kid in the early to mid-nineties. Therefore, I was surprised that some people on here posted that they have always considered Billy to be an average lyricist. Although, I have been a member of this board, on and off, throughout the years and under many different handles, and hating on this band is a trend at times (sometimes it is deserved and sometimes it is not).

There are so many lyrics that have moved me through the years. I especially love the lyrics to "Set The Ray to Jerry," so simple and beautiful. With the reissue of Adore coming up, I just want to say that there are so many great lyrics on that album that perfectly fit the sound and mood of the whole record. My favorites were always "Behold, The Night Mare!"
