one thing that I never can grasp is how people become so deluded. I'm sure I am deluded about things too, but in general I am always tearing down into myself to figure out my true motivations, motives, compulsions.... I recognize patterns even when I cannot figure out how to make a different choice

but some people just do the same stupid shit over and over and every time they truly believe it's different.

well that's true, I can't deny.

She's a good person, but she just gets herself into mess after mess and doesn't seem capable of changing or learning. Before this she was in a 6 year abusive relationship and kept saying God wanted her to be with this guy. i got $2500 in grants combined from my university and the state of florida for this semester those two grants cover almost all of my tuition, so most of my pell grant will go into my bank account now. pretty happy wit dat

they just ask you some questions in an online form and then I believe they call you for a brief phone interview. I have no idea how seriously they vet participants beyond that. I have never belonged to a synagogue and I was not bar mitzvahed and spoke not one word of Hebrew at the time. I think that if someone really wanted, they could fake their way on a birthright trip
