I mean, this is America. If you don't like Doolittle, then get the fuck outta here!

I actually liked Bossanova and Trome Le Monde more than Surfa Rosa/Doolitle.

But I do fucking love Doolittle. While Surfa Rosa is unarguably rad, I've never realized why so many people hold in such higher regard than boss and Trompe

Just listened to the new Green Day.

Globes, you were right man. It fucking sucks dude. Even worse than the trilogy. The trilogy at least had a few good songs I could dig. This new album literally has NONE.

This is pretty historic in the life of Fuzzy guys. The new Green Day album produced NO songs that I like... Pretty depressing as I worshiped those guys growing up.

I guess this is growing up

There's a couple of songs that have grown on me. I gave it a few extra spins over the weekend. Still don't love it as an album. Sounds like they're trying to cling too hard to their youth. I'd go to bat for Outlaws, though. To me, that's the sound they should be chasing at this point in their career.

Oh come on now. I will defend Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde, but Surfer Rosa is just so ground-breaking (so many alternative bands in their wake built off of that sound) and is just perfect from front to back.

But if you don't like Doolittle, you should get fucked.

that's a great album too

that's why I said after Surfer Rosa is when they dropped quality

in fact, it's specifically because they become less punk and I lose interest

Doolittle and Surfer Rosa are like chocolate and peanut butter. You can't argue that one is better than the other.

Yeah dude, I feel ya. For me it's all about the 1-2 punch of Mr Greives and Crackity Jones

Back to the new album:

I love Baal's Back, that's some classic Pixies goodness there. I also really like the title track. Still giving it more listens, but there's a lot to like here.

Albums definitely holding up a lot better than Indie Cindy.

Classic Masher is a good one. Really, I like the first three tracks and not much else beyond that.

As an album, it functions better than Indie Cindy, but I think the songs on Indie Cindy are stronger on the whole.

Yeah there's kind of a good chunk of filler once the album rolls on.

But there's still some gems mixed within. You don't like Bel Esprit? It's the track I'm digging most right now... Vintage Pixies sound, I love Paz's back ups on it and the guitar works great.

Boss has some killer tunes on it. Trompe does as well.

You have to remember with the new album the guys are about 25 years older than they were when Trompe was recorded. A lot has changed. Still it would have been nice to have a few semi-epics like All Over The Word on this new album. They're nearly all under 3 minutes.

FWIW, the 3eb thread that was started at roughly the same time as this one has more than double the posts.

Apparently fuzzy couldn't make a Double Dash to the bathroom in time. He spilled his Sunshine all over his Gamecube.

Game-cubes legit. There's a reason why anything Nintendo, no matter what it is will always have a huge collectors market while "vintage" playstation stuff is pretty much worthless with no collectors market at all.

Doolittle is better. Surfer Rosa is good but Doolittle is more put together, has more vision, and seems like more of a statement. Also their songs just got better. Surfer Rosa is also great but it doesn't automatically win for me just because it's omg such first album much low fi
