Should I spend the summer living with my parents in San Diego, taking a math course at community college and working; Or should I spend the summer living alone in Eugene, Oregon and taking courses in calculus and economics at the University and working?
Keep in mind that money is not a factor. |

as an honest objective party with absolutely no qualifications to dispense advice, my exhortation to you would be to way your options logically in your head and take the path you see best fit to guide on your life journey. The problem much of our species has with coping with the choices we have to make is to delegate them to outside sources of whom are in no better position to tell us what to do than we are. Like, for instance, some random e-net jackass you've never met. Life is hard. Anonymous strangers, Jesus, Dear Abbey Colunmists... we are all the worst people to listen to here. Life is full of specific details and hard choices. You have to learn to trust your own judgement. That way, win or lose, you are the author of your own destiny. |

man... In all honesty I would have to advocate a 4 out 10 on this topic. Generally, I am a depressed, misanthropic, self loathing introvert. This gives me steam to hate on all things specific to me. Yet I keep thinking, I've never had suicidal thoughts, I'm indifferent to all emo music, outside of the Smashing Pumpkins of course, and I'm smart enough to comprehend the ridiculousness of my predicament. I don't think anybody can be depressed without some degree of self-absorption, so I think that in a fashion I've always viewed myself as a work in progress. There are things about me that are in some order of magnitute absotively awesome... BUT! the overall health of my being is something to be concerned about. I do feel that I'm finally starting on a prorper path of sorts to overall mental and physical well-being. Even if I do lack a certain faith. |

it isn't easy being anonymous is it? Back in my schooling days I used to smuggle all order of unhealthy snack in classes. It was a key attribute of my silent rebellion against the establishment. ******, even though our exchange is done purely through inert text on some assholey message board, I feel I can relate to your anecdote on some level. I have over time abandoned the sweets and developed a taste for salted snacks though, so that counts as a deduction from our theoretical rapport. However, I can definately relate to how most people only pay any sort of attention to you when they only seek something from you. But.. you have to remember, most people are visual creatures. I myself remember faces with far better temerity than I do with names. |

But it's still something of a huge deal for me. I really genuinely want Zeitgeist to cave my fucking head in. Quote:

do you think that macro-economic circumstances that are too hard to keep track of will eventually bring about the downfall of western society as a whole
