Mesa Strategy 500 sounds at lower volumes?
Is it possible to get those great Strategy 500 sounds at household volumes? When I say "household volumes," I'm thinking of a cranked 50 watt or close to a cranked 100 watt amp. The 500 is 200 watts per channel, and loud enough to kill a god.
Do the 50/50 or 20/20 sound comparable? The few clips I've heard have left me thinking "no," but maybe the settings used were just intending totally different things. |

I guess none of the Mesa lineup is really going to match the sound. I also guess that the amp isn't overall as un-bearably loud as some people like to make it out to be. Of those who own them, an awful lot say they always play it cranked and love it. Maybe just using a power soak will make things perfect.
