I only heard about this band recently from some coworker and his friend who are really excited about this. I gave the new song a listen but I was like "meh."

I guess I didn't expect much, because the people talking about them are white boys who seem to only listen to that genre of music that samples other music and puts it to dance beats (one of them is DJ who plays that stuff, too). I'm probably too much of a dadrockist to understand it.

My reaction exactly. I really like both Danny Brown and Doom, but hearing them overshadow an Avalanches track was kinda jarring for me

Hoping the new album won't be so heavy with the guest features

I'll check it out. Your description makes it sound interesting.

Most of the sample-music-genre stuff my coworker plays at work sounds kinda lame but maybe this one will do it in a way I can dig.
