Definitely hadn’t seen or heard that pre-show stuff. Thanks Copperpot5.

I was in the audience for this taping. I can assure you he was in full neurotic mode. Several times he stopped the band mid song and made them start the song over. And several times, they completed a song but Bill wasn’t happy with the take so he made them do it again. Struck me as odd even back then, because the supposedly “not good enough” takes sounded fine.

To be fair, everybody started raindrops too hot.
James guitar was too loud. Bald fucko's keyboard are too loud and Jimmy was too loud and fast.
I get it though.

Then we got some edited like 30 minute vh1 storytellers, which was lame, but then on kazaa (?)and other places you could find this whole vcd.

So good.

Just another pumpkin treasure that never got the royal treatment.

I do not think this was aired, but at one point during one of the talking segments, Billy makes some sexist joke that makes the whole audience literally groan out loud, and Billy says something like "I'm so sick of PC culture." You really could see the shadows of 2010s Billy.

In regards to this being a more "earnest" Billy, I have to disagree. If you watch the entire performance he gets pissy at the band multiple times (mentioned above), berates James multiple times, and seems to get surprisingly angry whenever people applaud.

Usually, these Storytellers type performances are always awkward for the members of the band who aren't talking, but it's particularly obvious here they're probably bored out of their minds listening to Billy talk. Jimmy kind of leans on his kit every time Billy tells a story and looks like he's zoned out, and you can see James lose interest by the minute.

And here we are 20 years later and little has changed. Jimmy and James are still 100% bored of the band and I feel their involvement 100% has to do with having kids and needing the money.

When Jimmy came back to play the Manson tour in 2015, it was great to hear the songs with him on drums again, but it was painfully obvious how bored he looked. Completely different from the 2007 show, which might actually be the best SP show I have seen.
