i never had a talkboy but i had a mini tape deck with a built in mic. no speed variation though. i don't know what happened to the tapes of my "radio shows" probably thrown away at a later time due to shame.

i also had a portable 8-track stereo with steve martin, richard pryor, and jerry clower comedy 8-tracks i got from the town's junk shop

This is now a nostalgia thread.

Pepsi Blue. I loved this shit, I don't care if you hate it or love it, but I adore it.

Pizza Rolls, ate these ALOT as a little boy, they don't sell 'em anymore in Toronto.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YI6giKJPDc...izza-rolls.jpg

And those cherry pies that you could get at ValuMart (?) that were already baked, ate those a lot too.

You remember those coloured plastic bears they'd use for counting? I remember those. I played with those a lot when I was six.

pizza rolls are definitely still around. i wonder why they stopped selling them in toronto. maybe you should write totinos and ask

so are little pre baked pie things. did you move to some place really rural or something?

i'd rather this not be a general nostalgia thread. we already did discontinued products. your food related nostalgia is not welcome here

I've just found out that our Interpol board game...

http://user.img.todaoferta.uol.com.b...bigPhoto_1.jpg

... is known as Scotland Yard in the English-speaking world. The reason is that 221B Baker Street...

http://user.img.todaoferta.uol.com.b...bigPhoto_0.jpg

... was translated as Scotland Yard first.

brio trains were my favorite:

http://www.aarongruen.com/images/2007-08/pic24.jpg

mine were usually way bigger than that though they'd go all over the place. my dad was a cabinet maker so he'd build TONS of extra track for us.

also my cousins/sister/friends and i would play a game we made up called "community" where we all built fort-houses and had different jobs and uno-card money and we'd all visit each other's shops and restaurants and shit.

favorite board game (though i just discovered it recently):

I remember my favorite "made up game" being me and whoever pretending we were maxwell smart and agent 99. this was from watching the old episodes of get smart on nick at night. i loved that show.

we also had the "star game" where we had like make believe stars... um... like they were numbered and each had a different power or something, i guess they were supposed to be on our arms or something, that i don't remember. generally we fought evil doers of some sort

children are pretty awesome and weird, huh?

Racist toys are racist.

My mom told me the natives were good and the yankees were evil, so I'd argue with my cousins about it.

Haha my brother had a talkboy when we were younger.

I had so much fun with that thing

I remember that I had a set of Rugrats and a Pokemon set of walkie talkies

I remember these things call sock em boppers too...

Now that I think of it, I remember wanting a pair of moon shoes so badly

I never really had much growing up(boo hoo). Everything I got was second hand stuff. So most of my childhood toys were shit from around the house. Or a dirt mound across the street. We'd throw dirt lumps at stuff and watch them explode. I did have a sinister (x men) action figure that had a switch in the back and when you flipped it his eyes would light up. That was cool. But he stopped working after the great aqua wars between him and stretch Armstrong.
