This should be a fansite? LOL
I only read posts where people moan and whine and critisize and spread hate against billy. His voice should be buried in the mix as it was on siamese or mcis; I agree, front isnīt enjoyable that much; but I accept that billy wants to use vibrato and voice centered, but please stop hating just for the fun of it |

I'll tell you one thing... If there's anything that the new music has proven, it's that the old band was a helluva lot more important to the music than we were made to believe.

I dunno. There has been a steady decline since MCIS. Billy will continue to suck irregardless of who is by him.

even if (when) james and D'arcy come back into the fold, they're not going to reign him in like they used to. he's gonna be all "I know what i'm doing" and ignore them. I don't think they'll care enough to actually fight him on it.

yeah exactly... That's the problem with any hope for a reunion actually producing higher quality material. I guess the only theory might be that there would be so much riding on new music from the original lineup that it might actually light a fire under Billys ass and provide him with some inspiration.
But yeah, I think if they return it'll be for the paycheck and maybe a little bit of closer... Not to contribute artistically and care about the direction. |

Ogilala - which Iīve listened 5 times is the best album since machina 2 - long good bye, zowie, archer, half life and processional are great songs - but I donīt know which guitar part iha played.
Love it |

Fucking hell, Mandarynne is good. This is easily the best album Billy's produced in a good many years.

Initial impressions having heard the album the whole way through:
Hats off to Rick Rubin, this is the best produced BC album this side of Machina. I fucking hated what was done to Spaniards as it's a rock song and should have been produced as such, but that aside, there are subtle touches to songs like Processional, Mandarynne and Shiloh that take them to the next level and Billy's vocals sound great. In terms of songwriting, this is such a level above MTAE it's hard to believe the same person is responsible for both. Where MTAE was shallow and calculated this is from the heart, and profound in places. Exactly what made me fall in love with Billy's music from the start. There are weak points, for me Antietam was very forgettable and I skipped over it. And Spaniards was botched, but listenable in the context of the album. There are absolutely zero cringe moments or moments where I thought he should have taken the song somewhere else or ruined it. They are largely simple songs, but that is intentional and is fitting to the general theme. I'm delighted to be honest. I was not expecting much. |

Unsurprisingly I'm loving the album.
I could be wrong about this but at the screening of Pillbox Archer closes the film but there's another song over the credits. During the Q&A he mentioned that the film almost worked in sequence and they switched a couple of songs around, it could be that an earlier song features over the credits or he's recorded at least another song not featured on the album. |

Also, he seems on top form in that interview.
Machina Reissue & Zwan still far off down the line Ogilala 2 next year (perhaps) |
