Nothing against 3EB at all, but I never realized how many people liked em. I was more of a "Lit" guy at the time. I used to love that 1 album. Boy has it aged terribly.
My own Worst Enemy is still legit though |

Ahhhh the fringe days before the internet was a mainstay in everyones home.
The days of being a kid and really getting mileage out of some crappy CD cause it's the latest one you've acquired. Listening to it while you sit around playing the terrible Playstation console. Godbless the internet and piracy. |

Lit or "my own worst enemy" didn't ring a bell so i youtube'd it
immediately upon hearing the opening riff it was like a blast from the horrible, horrible past this is what TEB must sound like to elph's ears |

Yeah, that Netphoria humor tactic is kinda dumb.
You can make any lyric sound ridiculous in that fashion.. Even ones that are really pretty great.... Just look: TYMMMMMEEE IS NEVARRR TYMEEE AT ALLLLLL!!! |

I do fucking hate that stupid song. The worst thing is I know several people who legitimately think it's this touching masterpiece.
I've really got nothing against Pearl Jam, and they are an entertaining band to see live, but I think they're the most boring of all the big grunge bands... And yet when I saw em live they still packed the enormodome in like sardines... And really, they haven't put out anything relevant in a long ass time. |

Pearl Jam are good but they havent put out a decent album since Binnaural. I dont feel the need to listen to them much these days but when I do it's Vitalogy, Yield and Binnaural.

Yield doesn't get enough love. I feel like I'm at odds with most PJ fans, because it seems consensus is that Vitalogy is the best and the band is generally at its best when it plays loose and wild. I like Vitalogy, but I prefer when they hammer out their music in a more dynamic, precise, and orchestrated way a la Ten or Yield.

also there is this element to PJ's music that I don't know how to describe other than "disjointed funkiness." It wasn't present on Ten but showed up on Vs. in songs like Glorified G. I just don't like that part of their sound.
They aren't really an "albums" band to me in general. With a few exceptions, I think their albums are usually half decent to great songs and the other half are just meh |

I agree about Yield, it's a fantastic album. I think of their 90s albums I'm the most sick and tired of Vs. With the exception of Rearviewmirror.

But seriously, aren't Toad The Wet Sprocket pretty great? Talk about an under-rated '90s band...

i haven't listened to a Pearl Jam album outside of Ten but dear god do i love "Black"
oh, and i listened to this full 3eb album because of this thread and yeah, most of the tunes are pretty solid, not quite the "singles plus some other shit" that i was kind of biased toward it being before hand |

I don't mind a few Pearl Jam songs here and there. I just find it hard to get through any of their albums, because it all sounds so samey.
