I was already annoyed that MCIS didn't have the full Brixton show. Maybe that'll come out in 20 years, like that Nirvana show |

Machina era is really when the cracks started to show in Billy's songwriting Shit like Crying Tree of Mercury, GATGC, HMM, Sacred, etc...no way would those make SD or MCIS Is this D'arcy's contribution to the band? Then okay that's pretty solid |

If you haven't basically spent the last decade on this board, never heard Mashed Potatoes, or basically were never heavily into digging into SP bootleg demo material, the reissues are probably pretty mind-bogglingly awesome all around. Out of them all, I pretty much only use the remastered Gish and MCIS for when I want to play the album nowadays; I think they're the only real improvements. SD and Adore don't sound much different at all to my ears, and I've never thought they needed remastering at all.
TAFH is a mixed bag; nothing there sounds particularly different to me, but aside from the D'arcy vox I don't think they screwed the pooch on it too badly (unlike PI and its host of shit). Worth my while for the extra tracks and Dark Globe CD. And I'm gonna go ahead and hope they'll keep the M1 BSBT, it's my preferred version. |

what are the realistic chances will see the whole thing - not bonus tracks, but MI and MII in whatever new order - on vinyl?
I've pretty much given up on that wish, since the Adore vinyl reissue was basically a joke. booklet/artwork with the Machina vinyl set would be nice, too, but we probably won't get that, either. |

He did say they'd 'probably offer this set as a reissue amongst other materials'. If he's even looking at doing a wide release of the original vinyl versions, I really can't see him not putting out the resequenced version too considering how much he's hyped it up. |

no no, it sound justs fine, nothing wrong with it, but there is harldy any difference to the original vinyl release of Adore.
the different packaging looks nice, but no additional artwork or booklet. not worth buying if you already had Adore on vinyl, in other words. kind of pointless to reissue that 2LP at all. |

guess I'm a release-pessimist now, I just wouldn't be that surprised if the Machina vinly release would be this all over again, with another cover art.

i thought the vinyl part of the adore reissue was mostly just to get that product back on the market, to be honest not sure entirely how rare it was originally, pre-reissue but long enough after '98 for 'em not to be new in stores anymore, but i know it was at least considerably easier to find than mcis, and much less expensive. still, the only sp vinyl i'd really seen pre-all these reissues was sd |

I can't imagine people who listens to BWBW and 1979 sometimes giving a fuck about Rotten Apples or Jesus Loves His Babies |

that's a little much
i can see most people not caring about X.Y.U. (Take 11) or B-side (instrumental studio demo rough mix take 9) but Rotten Apples is a good song, hardcore fan or not |

Plot twist: Billy re-records all the material he thinks should be the double album, changes everything to not be "arty" anymore, with jeff and a drum machine...

listened to Machina 1 all the way through last week, for the first time in years.
it starts really strong, and i like almost everything on it, but it just goes on and on and on.. i really think it was clearly meant to be a double album and will be much improved in a new sequence. |

No, taste mine.
When Machina came out, it was my theme album when I was diagnosed with Bipolar I. When I went to the psych ward I quoted the "Everlasting Gaze." Now I'm 30, and am on an extended care ward. I'm back in the loony ben, and ready for Love. Anyway, I feel the reissue will be my theme for my recovery and triumphant return into the community. I think I'll get out around Christmas. Ima make out to "Stand Inside Your Love." Again. But this time the song's gonna sound better! |

Before the MACHINA-remaster comes out, we'll get five limited, signed(!) vinyl pressings of Billy's eighties cassette-masters demonstrating the evolution of his musical ingenuity, exclusively distributed by his tea shop.
