I'm writing a novel isn't rockabily... It's range-life lite. Even the music video for it is shot in the same way as a bunch of the Pavement music videos.

rockabilly is country with a backbeat. writing a novel is essentially a rockabilly song. that's the connection you are making. your incredibly limited knowledge is just leading you to think one artist is ripping off another because they are both pulling from shit which has been around for 7 decades
