At first I thought that maybe I wasn't feeling anything because it may not have noticable phisiological effects, and that I'd just notice a change in behaviour. Only difference I noticed is that it made me more talkative when I first started taking it. But I don't feel any sort of high. Not even something as simple as a more rapid heart beat.

But then when I read of other people's experiences online, they were talking about getting laser-focused and doing shit like filing and ordering everything. Needing to take only half a capsule because the 20mg was too intense for them. Not being able to sleep. Etc.

Fuck, if I could have just three days of that, I'd probably be caught up. Sounds like it'd suit me outside of school, too, because I have this problem of having a lot of ideas for personal projects I want to do, but never having the energy or motivation to do them.
Yeah I never get super high off adderall either. Really I'm just more narrow minded on what I'm doing, and have more confidence and patience for hard work. Music appreciation increases as well which is cool.

When I'm in lecture I always dick around online when I get bored. Which is pretty bad. I never take notes either cause all my classes post slides online

Careful with all that learning, might accidentally develop some skills.

No one wants that.

Money is always a consideration.

Also starting on that might get in the way of some job opportunities...
Who knows, i'll probbaly see where i'm at by the time I can apply for a master's and decide from there.

yeah so i got 100 on the test. he curved 10 pts up to 100 to so i actually got somewhere in the 90s but i'm not complaining. considering i've taken 4 of his classes and this is the first test he's ever curved, I'm thinking people did pretty shitty overall. looks like my last day laziness didn't hurt me in the end

you ever think about how college is a deliberate blockade and profit scheme to prevent prevent people from accessing what should be a fundamental human right?

sometimes, yeah. i understand for professional degrees where people's lives are on the lines, like doctors lawyers therapists etc. people should have advanced degrees, but there's no reason there needs to be for-profit education whatsoever.

or were you thinking more specifically?

I just get really annoyed with how so-called anti-capitalist socialists get all up in college's butt, so I'm testing out really hot anti-college takes here

because i think that the internet should be able to expand our ability to learn and teach and yet we still cling to this model grounded in the old aristocracy that is deliberately expensive to keep the "riff raff" out, and now its just a way to get young people hooked into a debt economy

I agree with you, it is something that got monotonized just because it could be. If you want to get a college degree and not learn jack shit you can get a business degree or deliberately take the easiest professors possible. When you have to pay 30k to a state school for a piece of paper you don't want to earn and will never gain knowledge from but need to say you have there is a problem. And that's the best case scenario, really, that you owe 30k.

The other problem is it shouldn't be necessary in a non-science field for a professor to have a PhD. I know it isn't technically a requirement but there's no reason someone like you with a BA shouldn't be able to teach history on a college level if you have the aptitude and knowledge and can prove it. So there's people getting PhDs just so they can teach, that's like the perfect shit circle.

there's so many people with a string of degrees behind their names that are absolutely fucking illogical and plain stupid

i also learned more about history in the last couple years just from curiosity's sake & crusader kings 2/europa universalis 4 than i did in all of college and considering i didn't flunk out and i have a degree well that just says everything about this society and the people who are running it

this is true, but the next issue is that there are just far too many people in the applicant pool for far too few jobs. Even among people with PhDs, it is incredibly hard to be a college professor as you know

in an ideal society where the government invests in the people and not in a bunch of deadweight old gimme gimme douche bags, everyone would go to either college or some kind of trade school, and it would be free. then the economy would improve, the middle class would grow, and the ultra rich would have to go back to square zero and spend 60 more years trying to undo everything decent about society for their own benefit

seriously anyone can get a college degree, well anyone with an IQ above about 90. they can't get all A's and they might have to strategically take professors who don't give a shit in a major that isn't applied but they can do it without much difficulty besides the wallet.

you conversely can learn a shit ton (which I've done) if you care about learning but you get the same piece of paper. well mine will say Honors on it, big whoop. and you can also self teach yourself and know way more than anyone and not have anything

in a world where there are no more gatekeepers of knowledge, things need to change. i end up taking the same professors over and over because they are a wealth of experience that you can't find on wikipedia. most professors are not like this and at least in my field at my college the ones who are are in their 50s and 60s and are clinical practitioners who also teach because they like to teach not because they have tenure
