25th Anniversary fan tribute at Zuzu's...

Because there will be no SP show to mark the event, there is going to be an event at Zuzu's next month to commemorate the 25th anniversary of SP. The details are still being worked out, but it will feature some acoustic performances from fans and a few other fun things. Who's interested in coming? Any suggestions?

Is Belly going to send at least JC an invitation? And how is the access getting handled since you can't get more than 40 people in there?

Edit: I got that wrong didn't I... no Belly involvement. You sure he'll want to sit through an evening with fans covering his songs, if he'll show up at all?

I haven't heard any indication that Billy will show up for it. It's pretty much a fan-driven event. Just to mark the occasion and show some appreciation for the music.

I am hoping to make it a day long event. I don't know how many people will actually show up. My idea is a few 30 minute or so sets from some specific performers and playing vinyl on an old record player in between performers. Then maybe some sort of "open jam" kind of thing.

Hmmm. My first trip to Chicago (from New Zealand) and I had the faintest of interests in checking out this tea shop. Not so sure now.

We're getting this going and the date is confirmed. Here's a summary of the day:

It will run from around Noon until 9:30 PM.

There will be a sort of "exhibit" of SP/BC memorabilia. Throughout the day people can come and see things from each era of SP/Zwan/Solo BC. There will be performances from several people throughout the day. (if anyone would like to perform. PM me asap!)There will be fun stuff in between, like trivia, a listening/viewing station with the whole catalog of audio and video (well, as much as I have anyway.

) and an art space where people can be creative. We're looking into whether or not we can use the back of the building to have a projector showing the Oceania Live in NYC DVD.

Also, be sure to sign the guest book that we will be giving to Billy.

So, it's Saturday October 5th. Come on out and have some fun! If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, post here or PM me!

For whatever reasons, Corgan dropped any plans for doing a specific 25th show. The whole last tour was pretty much that, anyway.
