those youtube debates were a joke. better for people to realize they have no voice, than to be fooled into thinking they have one. hillary (although at least obama was the only one who admitted that the lot of them are filthy rich)

Being a New Yorker, I am already a huge fan of Rudy.

I used to really like McCain. Even registered as a republican so I could vote for him in the 2000 primaries (which means I'm one of the few people who voted against Bush three times)
But it seems like McCain tried too hard to appeal to a wider conservative base, and abandoned some of his beliefs along the way. Much like how Hilary has turned into a non-emotional robot without any beliefs as she has tried to become as middle of the road as possible. Sure, she may appeal to more conservatives, but she's also not appealing to any liberals (at least not to me). |

i am a lefty
i think it is okay for mccain to change his mind as conditions change. i also like his somewhat centrist political views. i think his position on torture should be emulated... i think most people in the nation (myself *******d) did not anticipate the tenacity of the iraqi insurgency or the difficulty of helping iraq govern itself hillary is one of my favorites. i believe she is intelligent and that she will do a better job for the economy than most of the dems (with the possible exception of john edwards). btw, you owe it to yourselves to watch the google interviews with the candidates. i've watched them all (and all the debates too, i think - might be missing one of the republican ones); the google interviews are far more revealing than the debates. for instance, a lot of people seem to agree with what ron paul says during the debates, but i personally disagree (for instance) with the way he would set up the market for internet access. hrm... for you people that don't want to go search for them, here the interviews (possibly in chronological order) hillary (all around good, edit: had wrong video here - sorry) mccain (stands on moral principles, respectable, not as bright as some - interview starts directly) mccain post-interview interview edwards (highly intelligent and very well versed on the issues - starts with his campaign ad but then goes to the interview) edwards post-interview interview bill richardson (the statesman, self-conscious in a humorous way - starts with campaign ad but then goes to the interview) ron paul (i have no words for this) ron paul post-interview interview bonus political article: the upcoming auction for the analog television (air wave) broadcast spectrum that will be available in 2009: excellent article that sums this up with links to both side's opinions (you can easily see which multi-billion dollar company is using logic vs. which one is using emotional appeals via the two links at the end): http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/0...ublican-scorn/ |
