i will piss on radiohead



it's extremely surprising to me that radiohead even came on board and tried to write a song for a Bond movie, but i'm glad they ultimately didn't join Adele in that miserable club. either way that song is great, i love the peculiar off time feel and hazey orchestral arrangements. like a companion piece to pyramid song.

in the meantime, billy's son is called Juppiter

It's a good song. I'm hoping they will go in a more different direction with the upcoming album though, this feels like mostly familiar territory. Either way this is the first new Radiohead in years.

yeah i pretty much agree. can't wait for the new album, even though king of limbs was pretty forgettable except for 2-3 songs

King of Limbs was good, but yeah forgettable, and it felt kind of like a lesser effort after In Rainbows. Probably they were going for something more understated after the tidal wave of hype and media attention that formed around them in 07/08, but this time I am hoping for something big and grandiose again.

The bonus disc of IR is more memorable than KOL

IR is probably my favorite of theirs even though it is hard to choose. I know Kid A is like the best, but IR to me kind of has everything great about Radiohead in one perfect, streamlined album. Saw em in 08 in Virginia at a pavilion during the craziest fucking storm which actually washed out the road to the venue. Took us 2+ hours to get out of the parking lot after. They closed with House of Cards over the thunder and the torrential downpour. yeeeeeeaaaaaaah it was awesome

sweet brah. IR is such a great album. nude has to be one of their best songs, like, EVAR!!! I dunno about being up there with kid a tho... I mean OK pc takes second place, so I guess kol and ir have to share third place.

what did they do for encores (besides house of cards)? when I saw them (in 04 or 05), it was the last concert of the north American tour (in seattle) and they closed with a ten minute everything in its right place, the THIRD, (yes THIRD!!!) encore.

needless to say, twas senescent!

I understand going Kid A, then Ok Comp, then IR... but King of Limbs is like down near the end. You really think it is equal to In Rainbows? I feel like Separator is the only track that even matches the worst songs on IR.

it wasn't very clear from my post, but i definitely meant to say IR is probably my favorite radiohead album all around.

that's not to say i don't really, really dig all the other records as well, of course. radiohead are one of the most brilliant bands ever. but, in rainbows has this cohesive feel to it. it's not as dark and low key as kid a, it's not as overplayed and morbid as okc. it just sounds like a great band playing great songs, live in a small room. i love that

funny you say that, i always thought seperator was one of their worst recorded songs to date.

i dig codex, lotus flower, bloom, and by far my fav off that album - give up the ghost.

i acknowledged that it is indeed reminiscent of pyramid song upon first listen, but i find that it really has depth.

they totally nailed that bond vibe without making it lame, with those dramatic strings that still manage to sound like top-tier radiohead. greenwood's such an underrated genius. it's an uncharacteristic aesthetic for them as a band, but they still make it theirs, which i appreciate.

and i really like the drums and rhythm. and all those nice chords and key changes.
yeah i'm digging this. can't stop typing fanboy stuff.
