Perfect example of an oddly catchy riff that any lesser band would be content to milk for 3.5 minutes with a straight 4 on the floor, a solo, and call it a day, throw it away.

But in the hands of homme and his crew of wicked gypsies riff turns mutant and serpentine until you can't even count it, even if u use ALL your fingers/toes

This is like 5 albums deep, mind

Most other bands are straight coasting on record # 5, not pumpin buckets sweat on some rowdy cerebral bullshit

homework assignment: all you dicks what go "idontgetitwhyqotsahypesospecialjustregularhmmmmdur hmmdur"
turn all the bass to 9, the treble to 4.3, the mids to 20, then listen at the above by placing the sweaty heart of your beavescrote firmly against the speakers, disinfect the affected areas x3, and repeat, until mom says it's time for bed

They should rename QOTSA the Josh Homme Experience
It would be a lot more fitting. To me he's like the closest thing we have to Hendrix. And he's always been in control.

After having listened a couple of times it hasn't got better. Disappointed. It's not even the songs per se, although that single keeps reminding me of mambo no 5, it doesn't even bother me that much. The sound is just really weird. I especially don't understand what they were thinking with the drums. Awful.

sorry for this, I don't mean to shit all over your appreciation thread. I appreciate them a lot! But I don't think I can get over this drum sound.
