Cool Anyone like contemporary country music?

Like, sincerely?

This song always makes me cry but mostly because my best friend's mother died and she said when she was rushing to see her in the hospital, this song came on and she lost it. It's sweet, but it makes me sad to think of her like that. :[

i wanna play shuffleboard and drink beer.

I grew up in suburban north houston (east TX basically) where it was also always on the radio, and while it does bring certain feelings of familiarity and comfort, most of it is also fucking pop garbage. the slickly affected hick vocals and soulessly polished backing tracks are the worst.

I always liked a shitty early 90s country version of this song...and this discovered it was actually a badass 70s british song

I liked that country girl on the last season of Idol, whatever her name was. She did some good country stuff. I like country music that tells a story or speaks hard truths or something. I HAAAATE country love songs. And I hate mindless country covers of songs with that trademark country harmony and accompaniment. haaaaate.

I like this. I don't like Keith Urban, have never heard him do anything I liked. But he's ok here, i mean there are others that could have done better. But I love Kree. And I like the song, too. It's not super contemporary I guess. But you know, compared to Woody Guthrie, it kinda is. Why can't current songwriters just keep it simple like this? Too busy on the intervoid maybe.
