I think the stress of modern dating has finally broken my brain. I'm losing it

Meanwhile, I just had an awkward IRL interaction that stupid TV trope happens where a person is so attractive that you're at a loss for words and basically Blue Screen.

Gave her a boring compliment, correctly guessed that she's of Ukrainian ancestry, and then didn't know what to say, so I jokingly asked her mom for permission to get her number.

I can't help but think you might have wanted to kill the pain, and just relax and feel good. Maybe even feel better, or feel really great.

But isn't that just what Bill Wilson said, "our desires warping us?" Nope, not by a long shot. There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel good. In fact, you are sick and warped if you don't want to feel good.

What goes wrong, what happened to us, is: we got confused about what would make us feel good. Initially, alcohol or drugs, or both, did make us feel good. So we identified the high with the means of getting high. That is a very common problem, one that hits everywhere.

shrooms are kind of hard to dose because there are so many variables (strength, potency, weight, natural tolerance, etc). i've done them quite enough times, but i was the type of person where the environment didn't hugely affect my experience. i could always find my little space. but some of my best shroom memories are of me giddily enjoying activities i would never really partake in, like fucking frisbee golf. but the strongest shroom trip i ever had left me on my friend's bed hallucinating the ceiling opening up to reveal lights and trees and "goddess" energy, while MCIS was on repeat and i kept seeing BC's angry bald head spinning around the room out of the corner of my eye. so profound, and so stupid. thankfully my equally intoxicated friend friend was the only witness to that.
