the song isnt particularly stellar until it reaches the last part
dont let your love wrap up around you dont forget to call, whenever ill be here just waiting for you those are fucking great lines. the way they're delivered by the band in the context of the song makes it both sad and sweet, i love it compare these lyrics to "im ready ready ready to roll" |

not to jump on the "lets talk about By Starlight" bandwagon....but I always thought it would be cool for By Starlight to follow Beatiful on the tracklist of MCIS. Yet even on the vinyl version, they are 1 song apart.
I mean think about it. Beatiful fades out...and then By Starlight fades in. Even the next couple lines lines that come after the ones b0lly posted seem to fit as a connector as well. ...i'll be under your stars forever neither here nor there just right beside you... |

I would like that not just becuase I like both songs, but because I think Lily (My One and Only) is the weakest song on the album.

People are probably going to insult me for this but I can't stand Muzzle. It's a god awful song and I skip it every time. The vocals are just too nasal and whiney even for me and the opening lines "I feel that I am ordinary just like everyone etc.etc." make me want to cringe.

Muzzle could be my favorite off of MCIS... Radio/high school completely over-played singles and ruined them. What you have to do is CRANK Muzzle. It's better that way.

I think Muzzle would have been a better single than Thirty-Three. I have always been interested to know what they would have done for a Muzzle video.

The only reason they picked Thirty-Three is because it has no drums in it and Jimmy had recently exited the band.

i think the thirty three video was the band at the absolute peak of their creative video output.
plus, to pick a song like that for a single, and combine it with the best music video ever imo - i think it was a great decision. |

The video is amazing. The song is amazing. Bad choice for a single. Which is why it failed commercially after four huge hits.

Geez you people are fucking dumb. Im actually starting to think that people are listening to a different band. Billy deserves better fans than this, some of the comments here are absolutely moronic.

I love the song Thirty-Three. I feel that after Where Boys Fear to Trad and Bodies, two of the album's hardest rockers, Thirty-Three perfectly opens the quierter section of the album. Still, as a single it was an ill-choice. After Zero and Tonight, Tonight, two of the album's "biggest" songs, it was too much of a change to the average listener to have such a different song. I think Muzzle would have been a great single to end the Mellon Collie era on (that or Jellybelly). The performance of the song the band did with Matt Walker is really good.
