The annihilation and desecration of my being?

I've been pen pals with a woman I met on another forum for about 5 weeks. She sent me an email yesterday telling me that she could no longer communicate with me because "it is too harsh for me to communicate with a being that disbelieves in the crucifixion (of Jesus)."

However, just a month ago she wrote this to me:

"I pray to jesus Christ...who do you pray to../Korean Kwan yin?...I used to a candles in appreaciation to her..."



I sent her a private message with this statement:

"Let's keep this going, OK?"

She replied with this:

"what is "this"? the annihilation and desecration of my being?"

She wrote that over being pen pals for about 5 weeks? Just a couple of days ago she offered me a cash payment for giving her "therapy." She constantly tells me how much my company/advice means to her and that she loves me. Now she reacts like the above?

This experience may have scared me away from ever having a female pen pal again.

no. i wouldn't be in disbelief. i've dealt with similar stuff. i knew someone online once who had me convinced that i had BPD. I don't. But she did and she had some serious shit going on that I thought made sense at first but eventually it got kind of scary.

I'm so glad you posted that. It's not like I ever would have met that woman, probably. However, she did mention that she wanted to save money to come visit me.

Come to think of it, that could have ended up being really bad.

It's nothing like that. I'm only talking about being pen pals where we only communicate online.

I'm pretty good at sizing up someone's character in real life. It's really hard to do that when you haven't even seen someone's picture or spoken to them on the phone.

I was concerned that her religious beliefs would end our friendship. When she described herself as a "fundamentalist", I thought for a second that we should end it all right there.

I still don't know what to make of people getting so upset over just being online pen pals. It's happened to me several times before.

I got an email from her. It's long and rambling, like usual. More shocking stuff, beyond what I could have previously imagined. She isn't cutting me off.

With all due respect to scottytheoneand, there is no way I'm cutting this woman off. She seems to need me. She helps me in various ways. Most of all, she's one of the most interesting people I've known.
