Yes exactly, just very dry and the cymbals sound almost deadened after each hit. Can't wait to hear the "3 guitars version" on tour.

Where to start. The guitars sound like crap, somehow Jimmy's drumming makes this bad song worse. Vocals are still dry and carry zero emotional weight. The melody is just atrocious. NUTHIN BUT A BAWDY!

How can someone who has written so many great songs lose the quality control this bad? I can't think of another artist who has lost the touch this bad.

Wow is this terrible.

Worse than One and All, but better than Being Beige, maybe?

It fits in comparison with those tracks, what else needs to be said? There's nothing new here.

It's mediocre guitar riffing with modern Billy's vocals. No guitar solo. Nothing incredibly inspiring from Jimmy's end. What exactly were they hoping to accomplish here?

I mean what the fuck is this? There's no aesthetic or beauty to it. It's just so dry and generic

It's like the opposite of the Tonight Tonight video/track. Gorgeous production, cool turn of the century vibe, parody of that Le Voyage Dans la Lun film

This is just Corgan screaming BURN DOWN THE SUN as if that's supposed to mean something over shitty compressed guitars

Bills surprisingly sexy steven tyler impersonation “eye-eee-eye-eee-eye-eee-eye-eee” truly tickled my scrotehole; otherwise, song is boring af

Jimmy seems to like really dry rides now. At least the crashes sound like real cymbals unlike Oceania

He worked a lot more rimshots in there than usual, which was one of the two or three redeeming things about the track

That flam transition at 1:18 was cool. Some of those tom fills in the chorus sound like he was taking inspiration from Oceania (2:06)

Well, is it bad? I don't think so. It's just forgettable.

I'd rather have an awful song like "Because You Are" than this tho. I mean, it is like Billy was still trying to experiment something when he wrote Because You Are... now, this... who is he talking to? How does he want people to relate to this song? Vague lyrics, generic guitars. The drums are good, but it sounds like Jimmy is trying to hard to show off, and it's not like we needed him to prove how great a drummer he is anyway...

Now that I've listened to the song with headphones, yeah the drums sound a little better than I thought. Still a lot of stuff we heard on Zeitgeist though.

Like another person said, it's not bad. It's just forgettable.

It will get played on the radio for a short period and then no one will remember.

The problem is Billy's voice. Guitars and drums are not the issue.

At this point I'm fairly certain that anyone on this board could write a better pumpkins song in one day. Just put your index finger on the 11th fret on A, keep the E open and start from there. Boom its 1994 again. Brand salvaged.

Literally more boring than most songs on Monuments and that was the most boring Pumpkins album to date.

You have the most talented drummer of a generation back in the fold, make him sound like Mike Burns. A creative guitarist, bury him in the mix and don’t let him do anything. You make a boring 3 minute rock song that goes absolutely nowhere and rips off Joan Jett.

Leave it to Billy to completely kill the little excitement I had left for this reunion

First login in ages to thank *Insight Scoop* for the link as I was super curious to hear this track. I have to agree with most of the posters here though, this track sucks. It sounds so phoned in and lacking in ideas and yet the sad thing is I bet they tried. Not to mention it's impossible to tell if Iha is even on this. Bummer.

Pretty by-the-numbers on first listen. Not terrible but not mindblowing. Seems very middle of the road and doesn't communicate much of anything. Gonna give it a few days to mull it over.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeealllly sounds like a ZG-era song though.
