Sleepy Hollow A for the art direction if not the story. I love the feel of that movie.

plus it has miranda richardson and emperor palpatine in it too

Out of the last few movies I've seen, 28 Weeks Later might be the best of the lot. Transformers is defintely the worst.

Order of the Phoenix is next...hopefully it's as good as the previews make it look.

ive seen quite a few movies recently in between weddings and awesome 4th of julyness

the fountain - B. well, i saw what was trying to be done with the entire 3 storylines, but i think it was a bit excessive. its creative, but not really necessarily. interesting, but a bit much.
evan almighty - B. fun movie. wasnt really as funny as bruce almighty, but moreso just fun. the effects with the animals were cool, and they better have been because i heard this movie cost a fortune.
ratatouille - A+. another pixar gem. just a great, awesome movie that i couldnt stop smiling to. maybe the funniest pixar movie yet.
transformers - A. the visual effects in this movie were so seamless and real that i have to give it a good grade. i hardly paid attention to any sort of storyline, but the last hour of action was just mindblowing. plus the chick is smoking and maybe a couple of kids will start listening to the strokes on their apple computers while rationalizing the war in iraq.
blood diamond - A. dicaprio is officially a badass. who knew that the titanic kid was such a great actor? the accent was silly at times but he was like from zimbabwe and white? some weird mix? so who knows how those people talk. connelly, as usual, was beautiful and brilliant, and the black dude was probably the best of the bunch. (maybe) this movie was great, loved it.
music and lyrics - C. seldomly funny mostly boring.

i hadnt seen his awesome movies until around gangs of new york. then i saw this boy's life i think it was called, the movie opposite deniro. he was great in that movie. the aviator, the departed, blood diamond, catch me if you can convinced me that he was a badass actor, even though i wasnt overly impressed with the beach or romeo and juliet.

its still pretty crazy that i havent seen whats eating gilbert grape considering dicaprio and depp are two of my favorite actors

and juliette lewis is in it too *puke*

but it's filmed in Lockhart, TX and the courthouse they used in the film is really cool. Barbecue is awesome in Lockhart.

hm. from the weekend til today.

accepted- 3. funny and wacky, could've been better with an r rating
you, me and dupree- 2.5. not as bad as the critics made it out to be. fun, but some boring bits.
bon cop, bad cop- 3. a nice, very funny, action packed movie. nice to see a canadian movie that isn't all "art-house". just a straight up buddy cop movie.
candy- 4.5. just absolutely heartbreaking. cried sooooo much. great depiction of additiction and codependence. heath ledger was brilliant.

I watched East of Eden last night, certainly deserves its masterpiece status. James Dean is not overrated. He might've been better in this than Rebel.

Transformers - entertaining but couldve used less slapstick comedy. i heard rumors of sequels which i won't be seeing in theaters. C

Snow Cake - the ending needed to be more concise. overall it made me laugh. good fun B+

1408 - A
Genuinely frightening movie with a PG-13 rating. First movie I've ever covered my eyes at, and I was practically raised on horror movies. Aesthetically, it's very beautiful. Cusack does a great job of going through the motions, from a disillusioned hack to a little spooked to straight-up terrified to "fuck this shit!"

Live Free or Die Hard - B
It seems I liked this movie for all the reasons everyone didn't. I didn't miss the cursing, thought Justin Long was fantastic and loved McClane's disposition throughout the whole film, especially the little cackles of victory he'd let out from time to time. It got a little corny at times with some of the one-liners but they didn't bother me, and I can't say I didn't expect them to be present.

Braveheart - A
I can't believe I saw this for the first time last night. What's wrong with me? This movie is everything every shitty epic war movie (300) has ever tried to be. I felt great love for many of the characters, and great hatred for the antagonists. When he was betrayed, I felt betrayed. Signs of a quality movie.

The New World - C (tentatively)
I couldn't finish watching this movie, I was getting super restless. It was beautiful, no doubt, but for the mood I was in it felt a bit boring. Maybe it is a boring film and I'll discover that when I go to watch the last half.

Zoolander - A+
We've been watching this movie a lot the past few months. Sometimes we just like to turn it on and watch the first/last half before going to bed. Seriously, one of the few flawless comedies, and I'm disgusted to be part of a family tree where certain nameless individuals not only haven't seen it, but also refuse to see it.

I think today I'm going to watch Jesus Camp. Anyone seen it?

man 1408 was some crazy shit. i didn't even realize it was PG-13 until later. the part when he goes out the window and hes counting his steps and theres just no window! blew my mind.

braveheart is on Bravo ALOT. its a goodie. it always makes me sad though.

Zoolander is easily one of my favorite movies. its just so quoteable.

"Blue steal? La Tigra? Its all one look for Christ's sake! I feel like Im taking crazy pills!"

I think the most recent movie Ive seen is Bulletproof. I had never seen the unedited version and its just so butchered on TV , so I downloaded it. Damon Waynes and Adam Sandler - has some silly parts but still kinda crap. just for the fact that ive been waiting to see this so long i would probably give it a B-.
