I know Billy's got some solo thing coming out, but has their been any news regarding SP at all?

The silence has to be a good sign that a reunions getting ironed out. Lord knows that normally Billy can't help himself from hyping up any random idea that pops into his mind. I'm feeling like something bigs about to go down.

Royal Blood sounds like every indie hipster modern popular rock band rolled into one... Muse meets The White Stripes meets Queens Of The Stone Age without any of the originality. I get why they're so popular because they are not challenging and sound so familiar.

I distinctly recall the same thing being said of Stone Temple Pilots, but upon further review, they did have their own originality within the genre.

I know nothing of this Royal Blood group, but the guy has got some moxie and a nice voice, so its a good start. Considering the current standard for bass/drum duo's is 21 Pilots, these boys have a ways to go just yet.

On his birthday trainride Billy told his solo record to come out in September. A week ago, when someone asked him at the ZuZu's, he said this fall.
According to David Lagana a solo tour on it would follow 2018.

I think it'd be funny if he announced a reunion of a band that he's been performing as for 10 years now... shows you how much of a cash cow simply the word "reunion" is with the media.

Yes it did. Corgan gained a ton of publicity with his so called "reunion". There's no way that Zeitgeist would have gained the attention that it did or even have been certified gold by the RIAA if it were released under the name "Billy Corgan" or "Zwan".

Billy was a few steps away from playing at local Pizza Huts, bar mitzvahs and delicatessens before he announced the reunion... and with the drab and insanity that he's spilled out over the past decade (yes, it's been that long now) he's right back where he was c. 2005. The once mighty SP name can't even headline, and can only barely break top 40 in the U.S.

And as it goes in the music business, if it worked once, it'll work a thousand times. So if some kind of new "reunion" were to be announced I wouldn't be surprised.

I mean, did he, or did he not promote TFE with an SP reunion announcement? And didn't that reunion announcement come with a plug that he had a new solo LP coming out?

I suppose since TFE didn't sell a billion copies you want to say that I'm wrong here, but that doesn't mean he didn't promote the solo album with the reunion announcement.

yeah, I'm hoping this is taking priority. If he didn't bring out albums for 5-10 years, did a Kate Bush (ie: raised a child then brought out an amazing record) I'd be fine with that.
