It totally robs the song of its swagger. That hypnotic proto-punk chug.
Ba da da BUM ba da BUM ba da da BUM ba da BUM Over and over throughout the song so you're locked into the groove. And then Richman's awful guitar playing skitters across the top of it like a jittery bug. It's a masterpiece. There's a reason this band Iis listed as an influence for so many. The Bowie one is cool because Bowie but that's it. |
