Sounds awesome, but sadly no. They're not coming close enough to me. I missed them last summer and hate myself for it, but I use the excuse that my life was crumbling beneath my feet for most of 2015, so it's okay. Someday!

Also, fucking love me sum Hum.

But they are a cool band. Maybe not your thing, and heck, I love prog but even I can only tolerate them in small doses, but you have to respect their commitment to their craft.

Or maybe not?

Not something a reasonable person believes.

But you can claim it if you want.

I don't get it. Why isn't the belief, as you understand it, reasonable?

I like a lot of Pearl Jam's music although their albums are all of very uneven quality to me. Ten is probably the most consistent tbh

Yeah... I wouldn't listen to any of their albums the whole way through though.
It's all too samey for long stretches.

Aw man I totes forgot about that yo la tengo when I was doing mine... "Sugarcube" alone is on the short list of best all time fuzzrock jams, plus u got "Autumn Sweater" on there, dayum son

tbh if "Madeline" and "Tony Orlando" were on there I'd have to bump Yoshimi for ICHTHBAO

why that one if I may ask?

just seems like a random choice out of all their output

I think aside from the couple noisier tracks (which are great) the album has a really nice cozy atmosphere. Feels like the fall to me. You could probably say that about a lot of Yo La Tengo but they really nail it here IMO. Plus personal nostalgia reasons.

I get you. In Korean they use the same word to describe liking something and thinking something is good. Makes sense. But you can like something and think it's awful too. Guilty pleasure songs, for example.

People have already quoted/echoed stuff from your other sentiment, but this one really stuck out to me. MCIS was my first CD purchase, yet alone my first SP purchase. It will always be king of the pile for me, always.

Great thread. There are a handful of folks on here whose list closely overlaps with me by 5 or 6 - yet of those remaining 5 or 4, I haven't even heard the album; guess I need to start doing some blind album buying.

Not really in order past those top 3:

1 - SP - MCIS
2 - Pearl Jam - No Code
3 - R.E.M. - Reckoning
4 - Morrissey - Vauxhall and I
5 - The Killers - Sam's Town
6 - Neutral Milk Hotel - Aeroplane
7 - My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges
8 - Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
9 - Radiohead - The Bends
10 - The National - Trouble Will Find Me

Dammit, that's hard. There are some artists - namely, Neil Young and Ryan Adams - that I sat there and stared, yet couldn't pick one clear cut winner, so I just ended up skipping them in lieu of another band who's got one that I like top to bottom.
