this past weekend i saw Mars Volta, which was really cool. Much better than the last couple times i saw them. they played pretty much the coolest version of Intertiatic ESP ever. good show. Fuck at the drive-in.

labor day wknd i saw Ween @ Red Rocks (first show at Red Rocks ever and it was awesome) and Autolux before leaving town. Ween was amazing, and so was the overall show experience, tailgating, etc. They closed the set with Dr. Rock and played a couple b-sides i've never heard live before. So good. Even Meat Puppets were decent as openers, as they played all the Nirvana-related stuff, and the a bunch of other wannabe Phish stuff that set the vibe pefectly for Ween. Autolux was ok. They played 2-3 new songs i think. I could be wrong. it was a real short set and it left me wondering why this fucking band doesn't just step up and seize the moment. they just seem so indifferent to playing, releasing music, etc...when its not put out on a silver platter for them like some of their previous openeing gigs. but i'm down with their music, so whatever.
