The Adler most certainly sells beer, and there 3 enormous parking ramps - 1 located DIRECTLY accross the street from the Adler, and cost a maximum of $7 a day, and it's obviously less if you get there later in the evening. And yeah, there are plenty of great bars (especially Mac's Tavern). You sound like the nuts that post on the Quad-City Times website and complain about the parking meters, but refuse to use prefectly good parking ramps 3 feet away.

Trust me, I live and work downtown here, and this guy is way out the loop.
The last time I was at the Adler for an event actually was over 10 years ago. But my wife and a friend of mine have been there within the past couple of years and neither recalled the Adler selling alcohol. And about the parking situation... This is DAVENPORT, not Chicago.... we don't PAY for parking around here. Off-street parking or finding one of those small lots downtown is the way to go.

Need advice. What seats are better?

Sec: D Row:R Seats: (forgot the exact numbers, but it's close to the wall)

or

Sec:B Row:AA Seats: 3-4, right in the center aisle.

I'm thinking the second one cuz it's in the center...but it's pretty far back.

I don't mean to turn this in to a townie discussion, but to scoff at .075 cents per hour parking ramp rates that max at $7 is absolutely rediculous to me. It's dirt cheap, and you can literally throw a baseball from the parking lot to the door of the Adler. Sure, you can find a street spot after 20 minutes during a show this big, but was it worth the 3 bucks you saved? I'm sure some of you in Chicago are getting a good laugh out of this discussion.

Also, I've been there for everything from Ben Folds to Broadway musicals, and everytime, they've served beer. Fear not my local friend, the beer will be flowing.

That being said, who's stoked for the gig!

How is it screwing someone else to resell it at face value if I find a better one? Anyone who cares badly enough about going to this show should have bought tickets during the presale.

don't worry about davin, i think he already forgot that he bought more tickets than needed for another show. try as much as you'd like. ticketmaster just wants your money.

also can't you cancel tickets?

Alright, that's it. I'm buying a ticket tomorrow. I see we have a few Chicago-ans...should be a killer show.

I was really hoping for General Admission, but if there's a great audience that's into it, it should make up for it. Need to pop my SP live cherry and it doesn't look like they're coming to Chicago until the 20th Anniv. shows.

I second the cancel ticket question. I'd love to get a refund if I can't sell my extras. (I'd do the research myself but I'm off to see the new Batman)

Cool. I'm glad someone knows about the beer situation at the Adler. Not that it's a huge deal, but I hate going dry for 2 or 3 hours after you've already started with a few drinks before the show. And now that I think about it, the last couple of times my wife was at the Adler it was for some show for little kids... you know, like when Barney's show comes to town. So maybe that's why they weren't selling alcohol.

and, should i not be able to get tickets tomorrow, i'll just put this out here that i would be interested in anyone's extras so PM me sometime tomorrow if you have extras and i'll let you know if i got some or not. all i know is i'm going to this show!!!

thanks.
There was a 6 ticket limit for the pre-sale and there will be an 8 ticket limit in the general sale. As long as you're online when they go onsale, you WILL get tickets. The pre-sale still had plenty of good tickets available, but everyone here wants the BEST tickets.

thanks toadkat, that's great news! it's been a little while since i've been on these boards, but your screen name is familiar. i think i remember doing a trade with you some time ago, mostly because i think i forgot a disc or the burn process left some tracks off a disc. anyway, good to see a familiar "face" on here again. hope to see some of you at the show!
