Billy uploaded that Instagram video twice...apparently fans demanded a black and white version?

Holy shit it must suck living with Billy playing all that old music all the time.

Billy's like an antique enamel sign hidden in an old dusty barn full of crap no one's touched since Grandpa died.

Where is all the Cure, Bauhaus and Echo? Why is he always showing off this old (even for his age) terrible music? What the hell happened to the gothic deathrock boy? fucking body snatchers, man. Please put down the country tom banjo and start writing dreary acoustic songs or go back to writing candy-like fuzz rock. Anything but this terrible, terrible trite "music by numbers" schlock.

Candy fuzz. That's a good way of describing half of Siamese Dream.

lol the Six White Horses song sounds NOTHING like Ogilala. It's got a very Americana/bluegrass feel and title and I kind of dig it. If the whole album is like this I might actually enjoy it.

This song would perfectly fit onto ogilala. Its a shitty song- bluegrass, country, whatever it is- it sound shit. Sorry but archer is the only enjoyable song on ogibaba.

I think the problem with Billy is that there's no urgency in his songwriting approach anymore. He used to seem like an artist bursting at the seams with passion... Now he's just some rich as fuck dude in his 50's, plucking around on an acoustic guitar, singing the first melody that comes to his mind and then calling it a night.

He definitely uses the, "yeah, that'll work" approach. That's why that song on Instagram sounds like a zeitgeist era acoustic song. Same strumming pattern. Capo.
Boring. Homeboy definitely has lost his muse.

And like someone else said, good thing they're all jamming together to get a real feel of the band for the first time in 18 years.

It in no way was it just James stopping by the studio to play a couple leads on some songs he wasn't there for the inception, the recording, the jamming in the ways they did in the past.

Sigh.
In a way I am glad this d'arcy thing happened because I can now completely distance myself from this band simply because of Billy Corgan. His actions, his lying manipulative words in the press for what. 26 years? I had already tapped out after American Gothic. Teargarden made it quite easy. Mikey b made it easy
But the last couple of years where he's woven this storyline that he wants to pumpkins back, all 4 of them, was just manipulative marketing. Which is fine. You know, except for what he did to d'arcy, whom was honestly an innocent victim.

Bummer of it is, I can't even go back and listen to the music I used to love. Legacy is tarnished.

Good job willy p.
Shouldn't have quit that therapy, for those that feel unlovable themselves often seek it out so to become true.

Exactly- true that. Fucking boring rhythm, fuckin boring melody- james did not contribute much to the new stuff i guess.

Billy lost his muse but still believes that he is doing four star records.

James Iha played keyboards on Corgan's "Processional". The reoccurring PLING-tone is an interesting effect, giving the song the extra vibe...

The only person to play on the record outside of Corgan and a string quartet is original Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, who appears on "The Processional." It marks his first time on a song with Corgan since the 2000 Smashing Pumpkins LP Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music. They were estranged for many years following the dissolution of the original Pumpkins that year, but in March 2016 they shocked fans when they performed a series of songs from Siamese Dream at a handful of shows on the Pumpkins' In Plainsong tour. "I sent him some [songs] and said to him, 'I feel like this is right up your alley' as far as the kind of music he likes to work on," says Corgan. "He picked out two songs, though one will likely be a B side."

Corgan didn't say, which instruments James was playing. I've red in another article James played keyboards on "Processional". Don't remind which one it was. But with doing movie soundtracks he is now also familiar with other instruments than his guitar.
