I picked up that idea from this book

https://www.amazon.com/Mating-Mind-S.../dp/038549517X

which I read in 2002, I suppose about 5 years before you were born.

i clean my room, bathroom, kitchen, and the living room twice a week, on rotation. i deep clean about once a month. my car doesn't get messy. it's a pain in the ass, but i much prefer it to the place being a disaster. i even have favorite cleaning products. what am i.

Best housewife ever prepares three meals a day, for her family. Every day.

And keeps her figure by working out, so that she can be everything her husband needs for sexual satisfaction, every night.

You don't want to be the best housewife ever!!

HowJenDoesIt gets pretty close...her daily routine includes cleaning the guest powder room downstairs every day, and going to the gym.

It takes a pretty special individual to prepare all the food your family eats, every day, and clean the whole house, and go to the gym, then come home and blow dry your hair and do your makeup in time to pick the kids up from school.

Jen is the best housewife ever because whatever storm life has thrown at her, her house is in perfect shape for hosting guests, and her husband can be proud of how well she takes care of her appearance.

I am a mediocre housewife.

I once stayed in a gigantic old home in Indianapolis with a Catholic family, and the matriarch had a cross stitch on the wall that read "Dull women keep immaculate homes" and at first I thought it was singing the praises of dull women. Like yeah, us dull women do keep some immaculate homes.

And then I realised...and I laughed, and I've remembered it ever since. It makes me feel better about my housekeeping skills...

Not at all. In fact I am led to believe that your mother shines with all the lustre of a dry bar of soap.

I'm good with mediocrity in most areas. Some things do require excellence or complete inadequacy, however.

my laptop's screen died. when i was trying to figure out the problem i bent some pins in a connector, too. so a job i could have done myself for $40 turned into a job i need my computer store owner friend to do for me for $60 and dinner on me. apparently the thing i broke is easy to fix but time consuming (wire goes all around under the monitor to the camera and then under the keyboard/above the motherboard). oops.

i have my old netbook i used for college notes and working on my thesis, but of course my games and stuff aren't on here and it couldn't deal with them anyway. it also can't handle much more than a few tabs open at once. but hey, it's a decent backup and maybe i'll get some practical shit done for once
