Finished a re-watch of Roseanne from beginning to end. I started sometime back in September, watching a few episodes per night in bed (I do this with shows I am familiar with, that way if I fall asleep it's no biggie). What a nostalgic rush. Hadn't watched most of the later seasons in at least ten years. The decline in the later seasons is definitely noticeable, but I actually didn't find myself hating the last season nearly as much as I had remembered.

It's a shame the show has been more or less lost in the anals of history. I'm sure Roseanne's tabloid-worthy antics contributed to that quite a bit, but she and the show were truly ahead of their time. She blazed a huge fucking trail that a lot of comedians and TV stars get to casually stroll down today. Also, I grew up on the show, so I will always have the utmost respect for Roseanne herself, nutty as she may be.

Roseanne fucken rules; did she get truly lost in the anals, tho? My whole clan is into her. It's hard for me to know whether people outside my clan are talking about things as much as I'd like?

I made a thread about Roseanne some years ago and was very impressed to see that the general opinion of netphoria was overwhelmingly positive.

The series finale though was absolute horseshit

Aside from folks like us who came up on it, I'd say yes, it has mostly been lost. I mean, it's not like there's teenagers binge-watching it on Netflix like they do Friends and Scrubs. It deserves a better legacy than it got, mediocre final season(s) notwithstanding.

I think the finale was her/their way of retconning the final season's storyline in light of the backlash. I have my issues with it, but the fictional story within a fictional story thing kinda works in this case.

Watched 5 episodes of the Iron Fist series...
that show seems really crappy. Don't think i'll continue watching.

Jessica Jones remains the best Marvel show.

Yeah, I already thought a whole show dedicated to Luke Cage to be a bit much... While I enjoyed most of his own show, I couldn't help but think we already got what the character was about in a much more concise and efficient way in the Jessica Jones show.

i think they model these things too much on comic books when they could just have an overlapping epic series with multiple perspectives but game of thrones level complexity is well beyond the actual comic book writers that write these shows

i honestly can't tell if jessica jones is good or if i'm just enraptured by the two leads

Jessica Jones was a lil patchy but definitely saved by Ritter and Tennant. Without those two, I doubt it would've sustained my interest.

Really pleased with both seasons of Daredevil though.

Daredevil was alright. I find the seasons kind of uneven... and everything involving Karen Page kinda sucks... overall I think Jessica Jones did a better to humanize it's characters and make them very relatable.

I love the fight coreography in Daredevil though. The single shot sequences are pretty impressive.

david tennant is the most gifted ham working in acting

people don't appreciate someone who can ham it up BIG and make it work and that's 10th Doctor 100% he's like the british nick cage which means essentially that he actually went to school for acting instead of just being somebody's cousin

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the Nicolas Cage reference, but wouldn't being his British equivalent require having Kubrick or something for an uncle?

Started season 2 of cuckoo, what the fuck is this rubbish. Season 1 was borderline and I only really watched it for Samberg. Now there's no Samberg?

nick cage is the great american ham but he is a lessor actor because, even with his name change, he got some favor and didn't study acting whereas david tennant is a great ham who can also turn it all the way off and be good at anything because he's classically trained by british theatre tradition. its why british actors are better, by and large, than their american counterparts

I don't watch the Dr but David Tennant was great in Broadchurch.

That was David Tennant, wasn't it?

Rewatching season one of the Last Kingdom with my baby bro so we can start season two.

Couldn't put my finger on why I was so open to rewatching season one, just remembered enjoying it. And then I remembered

ragnar the younger
