I want to like it so bad but something about the production on the drum track (weird eq or something?) tickles my irritation parts and grates, so I can't listen to it a lot

Think perfect would have been better acoustic like to sheila. if adore was acoustic folksy with the. rocker/electronic songs omitted it would have pwned

Perfect on 5/23/98 in London was just what you're describing - slower tempo with Billy on acoustic guitar. Electric guitar accents from James, smooth vocals from D'arcy, and restrained piano from Mike made it a beautiful moment. The song felt like a continuation of Mellon Collie that night. They proceeded to play two Mellon Collie songs (Tonight Tonight and Stumbleine) in the same style - and those songs were gorgeous too.

Has everyone heard the KROQ Christmas version? Might be my favorite live performance:

https://ia800302.us.archive.org/21/i...8-12-12t03.mp3

Anyway I love Perfect, but I could never get into the videos for it or 1979, they just seemed so…goofy to me

I think I read once that this was Billy's attempt to follow 1979. I *know* I've read that he thinks 1979 is the best pop song he ever wrote. Of course I disagree. But the only song I wrote that got airplay outside of my hometown I wasn't crazy about, so what do I know?

My favorite version is from the Much Music '98 gig - just love that groove on this one. Flawless electric version.

Note: yeah, I know... embed, embed... but the uploader disabled that, so you have to click like it's the stone age.

not one of my favourite songs from adore to be honest. not bad, just a bit on the boring side, especially after to sheila and before Daphne descends

Was never a fan of the song, but it would have been a better 1st single than the abomination of Ava Adore.

I've always loved it and it gives me sickening nostalgia pangs at certain times. Also, one of those BC songs that brilliantly sums up a divorce (at least that's what I think he's writing about).
