something about her posture in this pic, and the way her flower stained dress flails in the wind and sticks out in the crowd, honestly moves me. i think i'll try to paint it in some shape or form. |

How little light does it usually take to blank a roll of film?
I had some unwound film in the bathroom with the light off and a towel under the door, but there was still enough light coming from the crack between the door and the frame that is was less than pitch dark in there. I kept the film out of where the light was brightest, but I had enough light that I could still make out its silhouette. The film being a little fogged, I can deal with. Same with some light streaks here and there. I just want it to be salvageable. |

I think I have most of them or all of them
i was surprised how cheap they were since it's not like I run into an unwound 7" ever |

yea it's strange.
I feel like the market for those will severely jump off some day. |

yeah how is it possible that the 7"s have no market value?
even the CDs sell for a high price. |

the only reason why (in my head) modern 7" singles are severely uncollectable unless a band only put out a few singles is because they're just so obnoxious to store and/or house with the rest of a vinyl collection.
also I am not sure if any of the unwound 7" singles have any exclusive tracks. |

Got around to redscaling a little while back. Played around with different exposures to get some shots that were dominated by shades of orange/yellow, and others that got enough light to reach the green-sensitive emulsion layer. A lot of the photos look slightly out of focus. Is that common with redscale film? I can't imagine that the focus point would be any different just because the film is flipped. My hypothesis is that the reflective film base scatters some light a little. Like, maybe some light bounces off of it, then back into the film, at slightly different angles. |

I was so excited to shoot my redscaled roll that I just kinda shot things and didn't really exercise any judgement as to what I shot. It was only part way through the roll that I realized, "hey, I'm wasting my redscaled roll on the most boring shit."

Anybody know of any cool photographic film with interesting effects? I've looked into Lomochrome Purple, Adox's Color Implosion, a few Revolog films…
I'm mostly interested in ones with color shifts. A lot of the "experimental film" out there just looks like old Kodak rolls some company purchased and pre-exposed to some pattern, and then slapped their name on. Kono sells some film that already comes with light leaks, and I can't imagine why anyone would want that. Revolog has some interesting stuff here and there, but mostly just that "it comes with dots on it already lol" garbage. |

Perhaps you could explore the world of cross-processing, where various slide film options will produce interesting color shifts and certain other effects when processed in C-41. To find the roll(s) for you, the best approach might be to head over to the Lomography community pages to run a search for "x-pro" and browse through user uploads for the looks that appeal to you, checking each to see what was used. There should also be guides profiling some of the more popular options and hopefully some information on how to approach them.
You could also try shooting tungsten film in natural light. |

I've been thinking about cross-processing film. I guess I was hesitant to buy slide film until I've gotten better, as the exposure tolerance is a lot less forgiving, and I'm still shooting automatic (aperature-priority, at most). But I realized that I accidentally purchased a slide roll anyway, so might as well.
My drugstore lab refuses to cross-process (they're really guarded about doing anything even slightly used unorthodox because they're worried about contaminating their chemicals or damaging their equipment; I really don't think x-pro poses any hazard, but one time I brought in film loaded into an unmarked cassette, and they made me promise it was just regular film), so I may have to take it elsewhere. I know that most cross-processing is done with slide film in C-41 chemicals, but I read that developing black and white negative film, like XP2, in E6 gives one a blue-scale/cyan cast effect. The ones I've seen are very low contrast, so I think I will wait until I get a red filter before I try that out. I've also been looking at some tungsten film, as well as some cinematic stock repurposed for still photography. |

I also have some rolls of film I've soaked in different chemicals, but I obviously can't take those to a lab. Might wait until I've purchased some chemicals myself.
