According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.


Demographics
As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 2,092 people, 768 households, and 530 families residing in the city. The population density was 542.1/km² (1,401.1/mi²). There were 842 housing units at an average density of 218.2/km² (563.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 66.20% White, 21.70% African American, 0.29% Native American, 0.86% Asian, 9.89% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 20.17% of the population.

There were 768 households out of which 37.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 14.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and

30.9% were non-families. 21.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.72 and the average family size was 3.19.

In the city the population was spread out with 28.9% under the age of 18, 15.4% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 17.7% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $33,162, and the median income for a family was $42,569. Males had a median income of $30,337 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,860. About 14.3% of families and 18.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 26.9% of those under age 18 and 11.3% of those age 65 or over.

Kansas City is a city in the US state of Missouri encompassing parts of Jackson, Clay, Cass as well as Platte counties. Pacific Beach is a neighborhood of San Diego, bounded by La Jolla to the north, Mission Beach to the south, Interstate 5 to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. While largely populated by surfers and college students, the population is becoming more professional and affluent due to rising property and rental costs. "PB", as it is known as by local residents, is also home to one of San Diego's larger nightlife areas, with dozens of bars and eateries lining main east-west street Garnet and north-south street Mission.

A golden beach in Pacific Beach stretches for miles from the Mission Bay jetty to the cliffs of La Jolla. A sidewalk, the boardwalk, running along the beach, is typically crowded with pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, and shoppers. The beach scene revolves around Crystal Pier, which is at the west end of Garnet Avenue.

Unlike many other areas of Southern California, alcohol is permitted on the sand part of the beach in Pacific Beach from noon to 8:00 p.m., which naturally makes it a popular spot for parties on the weekends. Glass bottles are not allowed.

The primary north-south street running parallel to the beach is Mission Boulevard, with the streets named after late 19th century federal officials, then incrementing in alphabetical order as they move further from the coast. Bayard, Cass, Dawes, Everts, Fanuel, Gresham, Haines, Ingraham, Jewell, Kendall, Lamont, Morrell, Noyes, Olney, Pendelton. Mission Boulevard was formerly Allison Street, being the "A" street of the series.

The east-west streets are named after precious stones and are roughly in alphabetical order from north to south (two of which are officially misspelled):

• Agate
• Beryl
• Chalcedony
• Diamond
• Emerald
• Felspar - should be "Feldspar"
• Garnet¹
• Hornblend - should be "Hornblende"

Other east-west streets also named after stones fall in there, but out of order. These *******: Sapphire, Tourmaline, Opal and Turquoise.

¹Despite the fact that Garnet Avenue is surrounded by streets named after other stones, many San Diego residents mispronounce it like the surname "Garnette" /gɑrˈnɛt/, instead of the stone "garnet" /ˈgɑr.nɪt/.

Pacific Beach was developed during the boom years of 1886-1888 by D. C. Reed, A. G. Gassen, Charles W. Pauley, R. A. Thomas, and O. S. Hubbell. It was Hubbell who "leared away the grainfields, pitched a tent, mapped out the lots, hired an auctioneer and started to work". To attract people, they built the Race Track and San Diego College of Letters, neither of which survive today. A railway also connected Pacific Beach with downtown San Diego, and was later extended to La Jolla.



[edit] Bars and nightlife

Pacific Beach is one of the main centers of nightlife in San Diego. Garnet Ave. between Ingraham St. and Mission Blvd. is the main area where bars and restaurants are located. Pacifc Beach tends to cater towards a younger, more college & post grad oriented crowd compared to downtown San Diego. Dress codes enforced are more relaxed, if at all.

Some of the larger & more popular bars in Pacific Beach ******* Cabo Cantina, PB Bar & Grill, Moondoogies, The Tavern, Nick's and Typhoon Saloon. There are also a good selection of medium sized bars and a few smaller 'locals' places such as PB Pub, Thrusters, and The Silver Fox.

Marina is a city in Monterey County, California, United States. The population was 25,101 at the 2000 census. Marina is known locally as "Fogtown" due to the pocket of fog it seems to eternally be engulfed in.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 24.9 km² (9.6 mi²). 22.7 km² (8.8 mi²) of it is land and 2.2 km² (0.9 mi²) of it (8.85%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 25,101 people, 6,745 households, and 4,809 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,107.6/km² (2,869.8/mi²). There were 8,537 housing units at an average density of 376.7/km² (976.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 43.74% White, 14.34% African American, 0.74% Native American, 16.27% Asian, 2.10% Pacific Islander, 14.81% from other races, and 7.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 23.19% of the population.

There were 6,745 households out of which 35.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.1% were married couples living together, 15.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.7% were non-families. 21.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.25.

In the city the population was spread out with 21.3% under the age of 18, 14.0% from 18 to 24, 38.4% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45 to 64, and 7.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 133.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 142.3 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $43,000, and the median income for a family was $46,139. Males had a median income of $43,139 versus $26,679 for females. The per capita income for the city was $18,860. 13.1% of the population and 10.7% of families were below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 18.1% are under the age of 18 and 5.9% are 65 or older.

Wellington was originally the world's largest strawberry patch, the Flying Cow Ranch. C. Oliver Wellington bought 18,000 acres of swampland in the 1950s in central Palm Beach County that eventually would be called the Village of Wellington. Wellington began as a planned unit development approved by Palm Beach County in 1972. For many years it functioned as a bedroom community with few shopping centers or restaurants until it was incorporated in December 1995. Wellington holds the biggest horseshow in the world from the last week in January to the middle of March.[2]

Piscataway Township (IPA pronunciation: [pɪs'kætəˌweɪ]) is a Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the township population was 50,482.

Piscataway Township was formed on October 31, 1693, and officially incorporated on February 21, 1798.[1] The community, the fifth oldest municipality in New Jersey[2], has grown from Native American territory, through a colonial period and is one of the links in the earliest settlement of the Atlantic Ocean seacoast that ultimately led to the formation of the United States. The city has an area of 1,523.0 square kilometres (588.0 sq. miles)[1] and a population of just over 11 million[2] (2006 IBGE estimate), which makes it the the most populous in the Southern Hemisphere.[3]

According to the IBGE, around 19.7 million inhabitants (2006) live in the greater São Paulo metropolitan area (Região Metropolitana de São Paulo) as defined by the government, making it the fifth most populous metropolitan area in the world, but it's the fourth biggest one in area. There is also a much wider megalopolis-like definition with about 29 million inhabitants, Complexo Metropolitano Expandido,[4] that *******s the nearby Metropolitan Areas of Baixada Santista and Campinas together with some other areas.

The state of São Paulo is also heavily populated. However, most metropolitan areas hug São Paulo, with the exception of Ribeirão Preto and a handful of other cities. The entire state has a population of over 40 million people.

People from the city of São Paulo are known as paulistanos, while paulista designates anyone from the whole of São Paulo state, including the paulistanos. The city's Latin motto is Non ducor, duco, which translates as "I am not led, I lead". A famous nickname for the city is "Sampa".

The first drive-thru restaurant with the use of speakers to order food, was invented by Esther Snyder and her husband Harry, in 1948. Esther had had experience as a restaurant manager in Seattle and when she married Harry they founded In-N-Out, a burgers and fries restaurant in Southern California.
