I dont know why they doubted they would be given another rubber stamp on that given what was going on. I honestly didnt follow that, but Ive seen conflicting reports on whether it was stopped or now its got "safeguards".

As to the rest of that, Its like the enemy combatants thing. The problem is the government asserting that particular power or authority, not that its properly managed. Obama is clinging to the same executive power Bush did. But there's a bit less flagwaving and xenophobia, for whatever that's worth in the end.

btw, I like the av, I was thinking of changing it to that for a while now.

Maybe it's just his charisma, but most of the world at least believes Obama's motives are pure. He's not some corporate puppet (though one might argue that he's in the pocket of other interest groups), he really seems to want to change things for the better.
