Well, to be fair, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the B-Sides (or stuff that didn’t make the album) ends up being better than what’s actually on the release. That’s kinda how it usually goes with Billy.

B-Sides are just generally a rare thing these days. I was amazed when I heard APC has one for their next single.

Change of subject, but here's a semi-related one I've been meaning to ask:

The album (SAOSBV1LPNPNFNS) is clearly done. It's been done for a while. Do we know why it was announced about 2 months before the release?

Seems like another miss.

Just standard record release model really. Allow two months for pre-orders and excitement to build, dribble out some press and teaser tracks, tease the artwork etc. Nothing revolutionary about it. The "drop a surprise album" model is still the exception to the norm, although I'd have preferred that to have happened.

On the subject of the OP - I doubt there are any. Apparently Rubin picked 8 songs out of a pile of demos he thought worked, and that's all they recorded. We might get some live tracks from the Shiny tour I guess. I suspect if any of those demos are releasable we might see them, but there's just not the need to churn out content in the way bands did in the multi-format era of the 90s. And we know there's not different versions of the album as there was with Zeitgeist. I imagine anything workable will be held back and used for Vol 2.
