No I am agreeing with what you said? Agreeing with you means I am ignorant? You know what that means, right?

And, Juliana, you were talking about D'arcy having timing issues during concerts, in the context of the band. To this I replied that Jimmy had none.

Edit: Melissa, not D'arcy. My bad.

Omg, this is not what we are talking about at all. What the discussion is about is jimmy's timing/meter which he admits became a problem, people can't play along with you. Hence d'arcy yelling at Jimmy. She isn't psychic.

another interesting quote from BC's confessions

Quote:
D’arcy on the other hand commonly gets completely lost, which throws off Jimmy’s concentration, blowing the take…in addition, he hates her sense of timing, and the way it makes his drum takes fly all over

Jimmy and d'arcy sound like a funny odd couple. They need a sitcom where they live in an apartment together

So the original post that started this fire was 'jimmy doesn't have timing issues.'

He doesn't. That post was right.

Surely Billy can't let Jimmy leave this time. There is literally no point in touring again with a Wilk or Byrne pathetically trying to keep pace during Hummer or Cherub Rock. If 2009-15 has taught us anything it's that in order to "rock" with any sort of credibility, Jimmy needs to be present.

So Billy, either keep Jimmy forever or go techno and not need drums

not quite. that last riff and breakdown has been played for quite a while. jimmy's part just is more awesome.

LOL...that's absurd.
They have the same idea how a song needs to breathe. So it has always been a natural thing for Billy to lock in with Jimmy and have that incredible chemistry. What you call timing issues is actually fantastic feel and pocket and an overall sense on what a song needs to sound great.

...... Um, no that wasn't what I meant what I meant was that his meter was not always in sync with the time signature of the songs and that is a timing issue.

I didn't know it wa an actual problem in the band until ram posted this quote from Jimmy.

Quote:
JC: It was basically a process of me deprogramming them. I went in with the idea that if they wanted Jimmy Chamberlin to play drums, it wasn't going to sound like a click track. They used to give me weird looks sometimes. [Bassist] D'arcy would be like, "Gee, could you speed up a little faster?" [laughs] They were so used to this flat tempo that it was hard for them to get used to the music with some movement behind it. But I'll be the first one to admit that my meter was a problem, even through the last record and tour. It's always been a challenge for me to not let my adrenaline get the best of me when we play live. We've gotten to the point now where D'arcy and I know where each other is coming from, and we can play together pretty effortlessly.
