Default Sp songs you played live

Hi, I'm a bit bored right now to be honest. So, this is for all of you who have a band or played solo live in front of some audience. I'm just curious, did you cover any SP songs, and which ones?

Well, if you have a SP coverband this is useless of course, but all the others who have their own band and write their own music: which songs did you choose and why?

So the songs I played with the bands I had so far since about 1992:

Quiet: I really like this song live, and I thought it's a great opener

I am One:
just rocks

Blue: we all kinda liked it and did some long improvision at the end

Girl named Sandoz: just a great song to play live (not really SP but we played it SP style) just chose it because it's a really really good song to play somehow

XYU: didn't play the whole song just added a kind of tease and impro on the main riff at the end of one of our songs.

The End is the Beginning is the End: rocks and I thought it somehow fit when I played the last concert with my former band

To Shiela at a solo acoustic show I played, jammed it out...it was nice...the simple cord progression allowed for cool improv movements

By Starlight....first song my band played at our first gig

Today - played it out a couple of times. People love the opening lick. Great way to kick start a show.

In the arms of sleep - but only at campfire type occasions.

Cool idea for a thread.

I've never been able to actually get a "band" off the ground due to always dealing with assholes who weren't serious about their music, but I've often played acoustic sets at coffee shops, open mic nights and other things, so I've usually played some of their more mellow songs, but I've played a few of the rockers too. Here's what I can remember covering at some point...

Jupiter's Lament - Played this song in almost every set because it's beautiful and not very well-known. Also, it's REALLY easy to play.

1979 - First song I ever played live in front of anyone. Talent competition in 10th grade. Lost out to some tap dancer girl, haha.

33 - Another pretty one that's perfect for acoustic sets.

Cherub Rock - A hell of a great rock song but also sounds great on an acoustic.

Disarm - Perfect song to play whenever you're really depressed.

There are more I'm sure, but those are the only ones that come to mind right now...

oh well you know, I played it at a birthdayparty of a "friend" (stupid fuck) as well

Most people never notice what it's about, they just all know the chorus..."todaaay is the greeeeeaaaatest daaaay...." and think it's a song about a happy day (i mean the melody's not too sad as well...). SO they are happy cause they know the song, think it's about something nice and noone but you knows what you're singing about

the only band I've been in where i could convice the other members to play anything by the pumpkins was a band I had with my brother and my husband (who was my boyfriend at that time). We played Rhinoceros. My brother is somewhat of a badass on guitar, so it was pretty cool. Of course, I was the drummer, and I'm certainly no Jimmy Chamberlin, lol! Then again, no one is that good

Ive never played covers with my band. But in between songs during our set, in the past ive done little teases of starla or drown. Oh, i think I did the intro riff to WBFTT once too while the others were tuning or something, and some dude in the crowd yells "YEAHHHHHH PUMPKINS!!!!!" and everyone looked at him like " what an idiot".

I've never been in a band that wanted to play covers live. We would sometimes would play Cherub Rock and Hummer during practice.

With my band, the Zeitgeists we performed Cherub Rock quite frequently (the only cover we used to do more than once). We did do Silverfuck (i remember it going pretty well and it was great to do the whole quiet middle bit, i actually felt rockstar like).Acoustically we did mayonaise. I did tonight tonight at an open mic thing.

i run an open mic in philly, and every time i get bored of playing my own songs, i dip into the SP pot.

i've played (acoustically):
window paine
cherub rock
hummer
soma
silverfuck
siamese dream medley (random lyrics from every song in order)
soothe
tonight tonight
zero
porcelina
thirty-three
in the arms of sleep
lily
by starlight
medellia

i think that's all...

My roommate threw a party this last weekend. I pretty much only play by myself in my bedroom, but I got up in front of about 25 people and cranked out Chrerub Rock, but I tacked on that ascending outro from Rocket. Seriously, I've never performed in front of people before. I had to pause right before I started to make sure I wasn't going to puke. It was fun though. People clapped. Next day I played Snail, Drown, and Disarm on the acoustic.
