I read this article the other day about VU being New Wave pioneers.
Let me see if I can find it

Sure it does. It's like saying "post-grunge" and then using an innovator like Dinosaur Jr or even Sonic youth as an example. Post-grunge will always be known as the shit bands like "Days of the new" and Nickelback and all of that shit.

Calling the VU "post-punk" is like calling Nickelback "pre-grunge"

again the operative word is pioneers

these genres you affix to everything to prove that you're consistent in your taste, they also refer to a period of time and a sequence of influences

What? No. That's not the same thing at all.

I think it's more akin to like calling Bob Dylan Punk or something
But still VU shares so much more in common with post-punk

Queen is probably the most underrated post-punk band of all time. They pioneered the sound moreso than many other bands and it goes completely and frustratingly unrecognized. The guitar work on post-punk masterworks like A Night At The Opera and News Of The World was directly stolen by all bands that got rich and famous of it whereas Brian May now probably has a shabby wellfare income now.

The Killers are the only band out of those 3 I would actively choose to listen to

Where does one start with The Fall? They have a gazillion albums, but from what I've gathered, Hex Enduction Hour, Live at the Witch Trials and This Nation's Saving Grace are their most essential albums. Where to from there?
