Also, this album took him a year. Twice as long as it took a whole band to record a sprawling, epic, hugely varied album with 100 guitar tracks on each song.

Oh yeah, with over a dozen b-sides and 30 demos of songs that didn't make the album.

i would say this is an invalid complaint - he's getting older so things take longer and it's not that direct beam from heaven or whatever

but when the SONGS ARE 1000X TIMES FUCKING SHITTIER AND UNLISTENABLE THERE'S NO FUCKING EXCUSE

you can't take LONGER than your best, biggest record and make a much worse one

Songs actually. 14 of them, you pathetic little shitty insect.

Show me one thing you've done in your abject, miserable life that comes anywhere near close to any of the songs on that album.

It's 70 minutes of unanimously 5* reviewed music recorded in two weeks.

5 stars where? Some shitty online blog? Nobody has heard of your band or cares about it. The level of your megalomania is entertaining though. You absolute bitter little british shit, the living embodiment of little man syndrome. Pathetic twat. You actually think you’re more talented than Billy. Hilarious.

i guess birch grove is sort of about his reputation/the fandom

he's just WPC "but I grew stronger as someone else"
now fans are moving on "my seedlings roam..."

"In Celtic cultures, the birch symbolises....adaptability because it is highly adaptive and able to sustain harsh conditions with casual indifference. Proof of this adaptability is seen in its easy and eager ability to repopulate areas damaged by forest fires or clearings."

"Drums are often made from birch. Prior to the 1970s, it was one of the most popular drum woods." funny cause there aren't any fucking drums on the record

So, you've got nothing to offer then? Surprise!

Yeah, you're right, not that many prople have heard of my band. That's mainly because I've had to break it up several times in the last eight years due to some pretty fucking anomalous life shit, In fact, the longest clean run we've had is a year.

Broke the band up in 2015 when I was just about to tour the States with Silversun Pickups and Europe with The Joy Formidable (that Welsh band who you would refer to as British because you're a cunt)

I never once said I am more talented than Billy, but I would venture (as would a lot of people) that my music is better than his last five releases.

You criticise me for being 'British' that is so typically American. I live in Hackney, London which is ever so slightly different to Huddersfield or Inverness. The latter is in Scotland, BTW. Those people would call themselves Scottish just like anyone from any other country besides America would.

Some not so shitty little music blogs here: https://www.themicrodance.com/press

And that doesn't ******* reviews for the new one.

The funny thing is that you couldn’t see that I was literally parodying the way you speak to people here. I’m half British btw, my mother is from Liverpool. Good luck with your music man, I checked it out and it’s not bad at all. I know the band issues stuff, we are on our fifth drummer, and it’s taken entirely too long to finish our album with money issues and stuff. A shame that tour didn’t pan out for you.

Also, you're saying that only people who write for massive publications have a valid opinion of music. I may be in my thirties (so what?!) but I do have the ability to think for myself and not be an obsequious cypher who believes anything that is published in Rolling Stone. What are you gonna do when all the 2* reviews for CYR come out, abandon the notion that you can make your own mind up? Do you even appreciate music or just like what you're told is good?

I mean, that sucks for you having four drummers leave... I wish my problems were as simple as that! I suppose it'll all come out in the press when we sell 10m copies of our unanimously 10/5 reviewed album.

We both know that we're both dicking around right? I'm way too old to get into internet squabbles - as you rightfully pointed out. 'Not bad at all' that's a serious compliment coming from Netphoria!

I kind of guessed you are half English, what with your uses of the word 'twat'.

I foresee
A time without me
So now like the trees, I've stood
For so long
So long

Shading light
Beside the falling rain
All alone
In love with age
And someone
Someone else

Sundays come and Sundays leave
Sundays wait
Won't you stand with me
Not someone
Not someone else

My seedlings grow, and grow
And home is whatever ground they hold
Shading light
Beside the falling rain
All alone, in love with age
And someone
Someone else

But I've grown stronger
As someone
As someone
As someone else

Shading light
Beside the falling rain
All alone, in love with age
And someone
Someone else

Sundays come and Sundays leave
Sundays wed, won't you stand with me
Not someone
Not someone else

As my seedlings grow and grow
Towards someone
Towards someone else

The birch grove stands for us

This whole song is about him watching his old fanbase remain attached to the person he used to be and no longer is.

I'll say this much for it, the imagery is nice and evocative. He's come down from the indecipherable Oceania-era lyrics.

I really like it. I just wish there were more of it - It's over too soon. Why in the hell must everything here be like three and a half minutes?

Sounds like it’a about his family. I’d imagine the birch grove is something on his estate. There’s a forest separating the house from the stoney beach of the lake.

Because more than three and a half minutes of plodding repetition woukd be worse than three and a half minutes if plodding repetitionm
