I felt amongst all of the newer records that came out in 2013, they had one of the strongest and it didn't get a mention here.
They played pitchfork this past year and even someone like me discovered them. Pitchfork named major arcana "best new music" when it came out. Netphoria doesn't have its pulse on all burgeoning popular bands.

Like are you bitter because your friend picked the exact wrong time to leave? I don't get why you're being so salty.

Also if every band that released an EP and toured a lot got a lot of mentions here there would be a whole lot more action here

I didn't mean to sound that aggressive. Just trying to figure out what's irking you.

I'm not being salty, I just think it's coming across that way.

I mean I posted a link to their music and no one bothered. I guess that's what I'm getting at. I figured a band that good when exposed would get some interest, as is often the point of a forum like this. But whatever it took a couple years for folks to catch them at a show to have it click. That's not a bad thing.

And I could care less about when my friend left. He's a much happier person now not being in that band.

And not every band that releases an ep and tours is as good as this one, as you've mentioned. I guess I'm just surprised no one here really picked up on this band until fairly recently.

And again, no bitterness. I have a lot of pride that a band from western mass is getting the national attention it's gained in the past couple of years. It's pretty great, actually.

Ok fair enough. I was ascribing shit to you you weren't putting down. Glad your friend is happy.

To be fair I don't know why I needed to mention that I posted about SO a couple years ago. Who cares it really doesn't matter. But I'm glad you've found them and are digging it. Pretty obvious too that they're about to have a really great year.

best new music is the prize they give to the best records, even if its an established artist

Yeah that's fairly recent, he died from cancer about a month ago.

He was a pretty big deal in the 80s, worked with a lot of big names in music at that time. Not sure exactly what he did, but worked alongside talking heads, Lou reed, etc etc.

I think it's great. Only listened once and the highlights were songs I've heard before. Seems a little less pop to me which makes me think it'll be more of a grower.

They'll probably be selling it at the show next week too I guess.
