How the democrats can rise to the top and win more people to their side again: They must distance themselves from, disavow, get rid of or end... - Hillary - Chelsea - Bernie - Pelosi - Maxine Waters - Feinstein - Fauxcahontas - Schumer - other nut job Dems who say stupid things - antifa - blm - AIM- American Indian movement which has become hijacked by violent people - identity politics - anti white hatred/rhetoric -referring to whites as all racists/nazis - news outlets start reporting news without bias- trusted anchors...get new blood in there - slate, salon and other horrible online rags... the other day salon stated they need to stop with ID politics...well, they're right. There's more but I'm tired. The libs better circle the wagons and figure this shit out and realize Trump is going to be in another four years...with more crazy right wing nuts getting elected. Gianforte beat up a reporter and still won the election up here. It's THAT bad and yes it's going to get worse. I want a smart, democratic viable candidate for the next election. |

Several reasons I'd guess. First, Trump's a doer, not a wonky hack who moves at a glacier pace to get things done, like congressional republicans. His own party has been blocking his agenda, so why not reach out to the other side and make deals? For whatever Nancy and Chuck want with immigration, I'm sure Trump will leverage that with tax reform. The dinner with these two tonight is very calculating. He can force the R's to deal with him on taxes while placating some D's to corner the R's into passing the legislation. Also...if the likes of Schumer and Pelosi (and Hillary) still have cache' within the Democratic Party in two years or so, they are toast come 2020. Playing ball with them now keeps 'em around a bit longer. The R's have become a 3rd-tier Whig element in their own party. I mentioned a couple weeks back Trump could disavow the R's in congress and start his own party --his actions with the D's this week are signaling pretty strong that's what he's going about doing. multi-level shrewdness, Trump style. |

I heard Hillary was on CNN today and called Bernie voters divisive. Oh, the irony. Gianforte blasted a seditious troop of the American leftist media whom are another part of the elements you just described the Dems need to banish. "Right-wing nuts" getting elected? You mean, what, Pro-life Christians who realize it's not a good idea to have open borders and put every person coming across on the dole? If this were the case, Trump wouldn't be having as big a problem with the Republican party as he's having, according to the left who deem him a fascist and anyone remotely associated with him a white supremacist, even if they're black. Anyway, you're right though Starla. You named a large part of what they need to let walk off the political plank (the deep state minions basically). It also highlights how weak the coalitions are though and how the DEM party is built upon this house of cards. It's a different type of weakness than the Republican party, who have a feckless leadership their own constituency has despised for years now. Their base is beginning to shift their focus on bringing the established R's down as it's become obvious now it is they who are blocking Trump's agenda. Starla thinks the Democratic party is in league with AntiFa?
LOL. It shows you how she's a sucker for right wing media BS. AntiFa is very very anti Dem Party. |

Actual leftists hate the Democratic party for not supporting leftist agendas. But nazi apologists like Starla blame centrist Democrats for leftists.

yeah it's amazing. in my tiny country there is a mainstream liberal party that I always used to view as very right wing.
and they still are but since the rise of populism in the 'recent spectrum of time' they seem like centrist that's kind of how I view the democrat party in America |

I know many AntiFa supporters. They are viciuosly anti Dem. I don't know a single Dem politician who supports AntiFa. Even within the Dem Party most of the Left Wing doesn't like Clinton, considers her a right winger. But actual right wingers demonize her as if she's a communist Satanist atheist baby murderer.
I cannot take seriously people who's views do not at least modestly align with reality. Starla's list of the guilty only shows that she is a typical brain washed deplorable |

Right-wingers think the left like Democrats because they can't fathom anybody not being partisan to the point of treating political parties like sports teams like your typical conservative Republican does.
Classic false-consensus bias that can be found in greater amounts in people without the open-mindedness and empathy required to imagine what it's like to be in any other life situation. |

As if I even watch Rachel Maddow's show. |

maybe extremist right wing creeps stereotype all non Republicans as leftists because their own political ilk votes en masse for republicans without question. The Klan voted in Trump, for instance. But you will NEVER see a real Leftist president. Because the Democratic party isn't so narrowly constructed. It will split on extremist issues. It's a coalition of mildly overlapping interest groups. It always has been. 50 years ago it was even more disparate, in that it included the very Klan members that now religiously vote Republican, AND it included the Civil Rights activists who desegregated the South.
