What is garage rock anyways? doesn't every band start jamming in their garage or a spot like it?

All these sub-genres tend to get a little silly as even most 90's alternative bands have a garage rock vibe kind of sound going on.

I would classify a group like Nirvana as garage rock... But they wouldn't be considered as such by most people.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre, as a bonus they wish they were English like you do, they even named themselves and their albums after Rolling Stones references and put a Union Jack on one of their album covers.

Isn't this a word people use when they're trying to justify liking the shitty music of the black keys?

Garage Rock is like punk but in the 60's so it still has like white guys copying African American blues and R&B singers. At least more apparently I mean.

Looking at the tracklist and that's not a bad crash course in the band as far as best-ofs go. Wiki says it doesn't have any material from Strung Out In Heaven though so make sure you follow up on that one.

It's some Green Day side-project, I think it sucks and was just joking around, but it kind of does fit the description of what you're looking for

stop drop and roll is not the best song on that album. I don't mind Foxboro Hot Tubs but I also don't mind Green Day. Unpopular opinion, but whatever; they were the first band I got into when I was like 12 so I have a soft spot for them. But usually if I'm going to listen to any Green Day side project, I listen to Pinhead Gunpowder.
