Default jazz night at the local church

Friday nights there is live jazz at the church near me. I went last week for the first time. It was pretty good. A five piece band. pianist, upright bassist, drummer, trumpet player, and saxophonist. It was all instrumental except for one song towards the end. Saturday nights is supposedly live blues night.

I don't know what the policy is about that. I guess I could find out.

CW, fuck church jazz, how do you feel about I Break Horses???

I'm thinking Hearts was basically their masterpiece and their follow up (this year's Chiaroscuro) is very lackluster and captures none of their initial potential.

(can't believe that's a serious question but whaddyagonnado)

I listened to the first I Break Horses album. It's pretty good. Not as good as Tamaryn or Exit Calm as far as modern shoegaze though.

I never got into Tamryn but I'm willing to give it another go. Exit Calm I just recently revisited and naw, not really feeling it.

The second I Break Horses album sounds more like Chvrches or m83 than the first album.

Since you like Chvrches I recommend you check out Com Truise. He is very retro synth pop sounding.
