i had luck on craigslist this morning. paid $75 apiece. so a little above face but not enough to be pissed about. a week ago they had some for around $63 on stubhub but i was still on the fence. but factor in shipping and it would have been close. so whatev.

went with my gut and not my head. i guess i'm a dumb hypocrite. : /

So hey, this show was pretty good!

I left after Pissant because I wanted to make sure I got a cab home (why did this go so late, btw?) and because how many more times do I really need to hear BWBW? I just hope they didn't spring...... Hello Kitty Kat on the end or something and I missed that.

General thoughts... Mike screwed up some fills a little bit on Geek/Ruby/etc. but he was competent enough to not detract too much from the enjoyment of the songs. I think the context of actually being there as opposed to watching a youtube video and waiting for him to come in late after a big BAMBAMBAM fill is helpful to my perception of his drumming.

Window Paine was AWESOME. Soma was better than it was the last time I saw it (2008 maybe?) I think. ummm

Oceania plays well live but I can see it being kind of over-indulgent and bloated on the record. I really like Pale Horse. Quasar and Panopticon were kinda coll but also sorta forgettable for me at this point. I don't care about Owata at all and it sort of stalled the momentum for me. And My Love is Winter was pretty meh.

Overall, worth it to see F+B, Obscured, Pissant, Window Paine, Geek USA, a little bit of I Am One, and a pretty rockin' Silverfuck.

Oh, the crowd was fucking awful. Some gross guy who had been making out with his gross girlfriend the entire time turned to someone during Soma and said "DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS? THEY'RE NOT PLAYING ANYTHING ANYONE WANTS TO HEAR!!"

Some other really drunk guy who was with two other drunk people fell over and almost into me. A little while later he appeared to be escorted out by security... but then he was back like 15 minutes later. The crowd also seemed to dissipate well before the show ended. I dunno what people were expecting but this was maybe not it.

i don't agree with this. i went with a friend who didn't really know anything they played. there's nothing wrong with that if you don't act like some entitled asshole who deserves to pick the setlist.

I'm going to have a friend make a matrix with my and travilbeat's audience recordings to give it a fuller sound. I did that with the Philly video and the audio sounds much better than just a bare tinny soundboard.
