I don't really have any that aren't gonna happen regardless if I make a resolution or not.

Like, this summer we'll be moving back to KC, back in our house I'll get my old job back, and we'll continue living the pattern of life we're most comfortable with. Vacations once a year, etc.

I erased all debt this year, I don't have any car payment or anything like that, pretty free monetarily.

I would like to get the Note 9 phone because apparently it has enough storage where I can put all my digital music on it, which has been a dream since cell phones have existed.

my resolution is to be at peace with my alcohol consumption. these days i get more anxiety from thinking about alcohol than anything to do with its consumption. i even hid a wine bottle i brought home from a giving council meeting even though i announced i had brought the rest home and then drank it openly. when it was discovered later, i just looked like a little sneak. stupid habits.

Good luck with slow weaning. As someone who's quit literally every drug at one point or another, I find that method 100% ineffective. It's cold turkey or you aren't serious (unless the physical dependence is so severe that you need medical supervision). But everyone is different. I truly hope you all succeed!

Oh hey thanks. I know it's a pathetic bullshit excuse but I have at least 5 events coming up in January where I know I'll drink. I just can't not. But as long as I only drink on those 5 particular days and as long as I don't over do it/ stick to beer etc, that will be a victory.

I don't think I want to quit drinking altogether (well I kind of do, but I know I won't) I just want to cut down significantly. It would be nice to spend my days off from work not hungover, lying on a couch, waiting for the day to end.

That seems like a reasonable level of drinking to me. I find it odd when people don't drink AT ALL, because there's usually a reason (either previous severe alcoholism or extreme religious beliefs). I like to keep it to a drink or two a month when I am feeling festive, and so far I've had no problems. If I could smoke marijuana that way I likely would, but I fall into the category of previous severe addict and have to completely abstain. You got this!

I didn't actually make any resolutions, but this week I have eliminated drinking by myself. I drank on New Year's Eve with my friend, and I will probably have a few beers tonight when I go out, but I am really trying to put a stop to by myself lonely drinking. My sleep seems to be getting better already (today I woke up at 8 AM and felt rested... something I have not experienced in literally years...)

I'm not drinking this January. After that my health will be so good that I can take double the amount I usually had.
