comparing humans to lobsters does seem absurd, but it's the lack of fallacies that keeps me interested, really. I'll read more about this whole lobster thing.

it's definitely not impressive even though he spends three minutes touting how much he knows and how complicated this book is he read

Sounds like he's doing wonders for pseudo-intellectuals and their apparent need to drone on about nothing to the detriment of scroll wheels everywhere.

he's a college professor, I think he just dumbed it down a little. I've seen a lot of his class lectures, and they're not as easy to understand, in comparison.

his conclusion about social hierarchies and the role of serotonin in humans is questionable at best

it's definitely theoretical and unprovable, but it's not exactly a fringe opinion. assuming survival roles of serotonin and other neurotransmitters is mainstream at this point, the specifics of each one is of course difficult if not impossible to prove, but there is a lot of circumstantial reasons to draw upon. i do think it would have been good to mention that a lack of serotonin is not necessarily a bad thing survival-wise. if there's a stronger lobster opponent that could kill you if you keep trying and trying to fight it, being a "depressed" lobster that doesn't continue to fight is a good thing.

Marquis, you seem curious in general.
what do you prefer - audio or video of lectures or plain text? I want to up the probability that you get something out of it first.

Video or plain text, usually. I have a LOT of lectures in audio format, about a lot of topics, but I haven't gotten around to listening to them. I've noticed I'm usually more invested in it if it's in video or text format.

added the shorter one I was thinking of to it, first link.

never read it in an English translation so I have no idea how well it works, but it's generally not "over the top wank" speech what Habermas does so I would guess it's fine.

in other words: read some Jürgen Habermas, there is a zero chance you'll regret it.

Yes, I had an unfortunate phase where I read everything you can get from Habermas.

when you scroll to the bottom here you find secondary literature. on plato.standford I generally find it fun to look through their lists, you always find something

https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/habermas/

Muzz, I said the whitesplaining thing because it's the kind of PC gibberish that RBG always uses. I was simply hitting him back by using his tactics.
